  1. Sorry! I'm starting to get tired... even though I go to bed at 3am every single day Anyway, roll on December 32nd!
  2. Right, that's my year break over! That went quick.. Let's see what the ECM 00z shows in a few hours time!
  3. Happy New Year Paul and the Netweather team!
  4. Evening all. The 12z ECM isn't as good as the 00z run but we have to bare in mind that this is only one operational run. Also, it's far into FI, so it will most likely change the next morning. Anyway, I decided to look at some of the short range models, starting off with the EURO4. It's showing some sort of feature packed with snow moving into NE England at day 2: And the HARMONIE shows this too: But interestingly, the AROME is showing a few snow showers making it inland across SE England/East Anglia tomorrow and the day after. Just to sum it up - the next few days look set to bring some showers from the North Sea, and could include hail, sleet, snow, and perhaps the slight chance of thunder. So, here we all are! We have come to the end of 2020 - and what a stressful year it has been for most! Let's hope 2021 will be better. To finish this post, I would like to share my favourite picture I took in 2020 - a beautiful cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning bolt taken from my window in mid June. Enjoy the rest of your day all, and happy new year!
  5. Anyone seen perturbation 26? -15/-16c 850s for the majority of the country at day 10. Absolutely ridiculous chart.
  6. Hi all, I just put together a compilation of all the best storms I had this year. It was a very good year for storms here in Bedford! I hope you all enjoy.
  7. Trying out some more night-time shots. Currently -1c and starting to frost over. Caught quite a few stars in the picture below and happy about it considering the fact that I used my bare hands to take it, instead of a tripod. ISO was hovering at around 6,400 for all of these shots. And an enhanced version: Starting to get a bit misty now.
  8. It was a nice day today - the sun was out for a change! So I decided to take some shots with my new camera... I think they turned out pretty well! The pictures below are my two French Bulldogs - Luna & Neytiri: And I tried some night-time shooting and tested out the ISO. A lovely moon corona appeared while doing so:
  9. This UKMO 144 chart looks like it's about to drop a northerly!

    Blimey! Where's that?
  11. The 12z GFS has a low to the SW of Britain and shows a dumping of snow across southern areas. I'm sure loads of people will be happy if this comes off!
  12. Lots of colder options showing up now in FI in the GFS ensembles. Here's perturbation 26. And I apologise for going off-topic here, but the rash of snow showers over N. Ireland was well forecasted by a few models, and there was even some spectacular lightning in some of the showers.
  13. Nice sunset this evening. Taken with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ330. Hoping to get some nice pictures tomorrow, if it snows!
  14. FIRST POST OF CHRISTMAS DAY 2020 YESSSSSSSS On a real note, hope you all have a fab Christmas.
  15. Hi all - I haven't posted in this thread in quite some time! I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I was hoping for a few flakes to fall this morning. Closest I ever got was hail! I see that there has been some lightning detected in the North Sea, off the coast of Suffolk. I've set up my DSLR on the window-sill so hopefully I can take some snaps of some distant lightning.
  16. I have some flakes too: I would have thought the GFS control would produce more than a few flakes if it verified.
