Tbf that's a fair point. Doesn't Buxton even get Snow when it's 70c just down the road in South Cheshire / North Staffs
It’s been known I believe

We should be OK this far North Mate, looks nothing worse than around 60mph, so pretty normal around here for Winter.
Net weather currently showing heavy and moderate snow during the worst wind bits for me too. Between 12 and 5pm.

Near the Headland at Hartlepool winds must be 80-90 in gusts never ever experienced anything like it this is as close to a Hurricane as you will get in this country.
There has been hail and lightning and power flashes and 1 of the phone cables have been ripped out.
Cant sleep as the wind is that bad it is shaking the windows and walls, It takes a lot to unnerve me but I am genuinely worried that the front of the house may go if it carries on like this with it directly facing the wind.
I have seen a tweet on twitter from a guy from Hartlepool who said in his 58 years he has never seen anything like it so that tells you that this is 1 hell of a exceptional Storm and the Red warning was more than justified.
Oh god. That sounds scary as hell. Stay safe!!

When you skip forward on the V8 extra radar, how come it never shows any wind change? Does anyone know? You can move forward just under three hours ahead and it just moves in the same direction (even when wind changes are forecast)

I am stuck in what can be best described as close to a Hurricane as we get in this country never experienced anything like this what a time to be on the coast winds gusting between 80-90mph absolute madness.
Missing the first snow of the season too
Where are you? Some of the stories from the coast sound scary!

The Snow-on-Trent magnet proves forecasts and forecasters wrong, yet again! I was confident we’d see nothing. Forecasts dismissed it here. They never seem to learn!
Looks like you’ve got a load more on the way too. Radar shows you under the firing line for the next couple of hours

@MattStoke if the radar is to be believed, it looks like you’re coming into line for some good showers? I’m still gonna be in the gap!

Turned into rain here now. Quite a lot settled, but it’s going to disappear quickly now in the rain.
