Either that, or making a postcode zoom choice persistent rather than need entering every time, would be awesome.

High cloud just N of Tavistock and I think I am hearing thunder.
-
98 mm (not a typo, just shy of 4 inches) overnight here.
-
23mm today, most in the last hour.

Closing in on half an inch here at a good steady ground wetting rate, loving it. Was not expecting this from theforecasts, I thought it was thunderstorms or nothing. No thunder or lightning.

Sadly they appear thin on the ground for East devon/Exeter other than ones on the coast which may not give a true reflection of conditions. Exmouth one here http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/ Starcross (you have to wait) here http://www.starcross-fcc.com/webcam/ and dawlish here http://www.dawlishwarren.info/webcam/
Moderate, occasionally heavy, persistent snow here in Exeter since just after mid day. About 2-3 inches settled.

I know and its the whole bare hands on metal frozen gate we casually do! Ha hab - tell you what has made poo picking outside easier! Come up in one go! ha ha. Ours at my friend's home as they are hers. School though is frozen, and no access to paddock but they have their "sun terraces" so to speak outside the stables so they can have some outside walk about..all has been plenty gritted and they have loads of haylage. Both were clipped a while ago and both like yours regulating temps well.
Ps don't know if you do this or are doing it or can practically do it, but we gave ours a bucket of really warm water as well - drank that in seconds.. so maybe worth taking up some when you go as some tend to not drink so much water if it is too cold.
I broke ice in troughs at 9 a.m. this morning. By 1230 it had refrozen too hard for them to get through.

Here is the weather cam at Powdermills, smack in the red zone (centre of Dartmoor). Still time to tend horses if you have to.

Met office ice warning expires 3 a.m. tomorrow. Is this an error? It's usually 10 a.m.
