  1. The wind is screaming and banging. I’ll be interested to know how fierce the gusts are.
  2. Horrendous gusts and torrential rain being thrown at front sea facing windows. Hedge doing Mexican wave!!!
  3. A very wild and windy night with torrential rain battering velux window. clearing away and calmer now, for a while anyway. more on the way I believe.
  4. Dry, dry, dry. Rain a few days ago half filled one water butt but it’s all gone again with watering the tubs of vegetables. everything dries out so quickly and droops looking sorry for itself! Got to keep the runner beans going. Very hot sun, real burning feel to it. Loads of lovely baby blackbirds and sparrows using the bird bath every day, lots of splashing and fun. They look like they really love it. Got a pond and have seen some frogs but no spawn this year. A few dragonflies and damsel flies. a very few bats who feed across the front garden but not as many as usual. hardly any butterflies in spite of lots of the right food plants grown. But huge amounts of lovely bees, so that’s good. No rain today, more sun by the look of it! Getting bored with it now! Only joking! Temps 16c at night and 22 to 24c days. No wind. Clear blue skies.
  5. Blustery wind all day. Masses of leaves off the palm tree, which is severely damaged from the snow and frost this winter. 15mm rain in a bucket, not much really, and now the sun is coming out. ground still very dry underneath the damp surface.
  6. Only a very few lighter than light showers that only damped the ground for a few minutes. Soil dry as a bone inches deep. well established shrubs showing signs of distress now. looks like the rain clouds are passing us by and going up the coast away from us now.
  7. Looking black out over the sea but no rain so far. quite windy and blustery though.
  8. Bit of rain in the night. Badly needed for the garden. quite breezy now but sunny with some fast moving high clouds.
  9. Currently temp 24c. No wind. Blue sky. Absolutely baking out in my deckchair. Wonderful!
  10. Perfect summer morning, blue sky, 17c at present, no wind. wearing light summer clothes is such a treat compared to recent rubbish summers.
  11. I remember in 1976 sleeping on our sun beds in the garden as it was too hot in the house! but it’s not too hot to disturb sleep this year. temp here 21c at present. not much sun today, warm, very windy and a few drops of rain and black clouds. why the warnings of danger to health? Australia and Goa, our holiday destinations, manage ok. Just saying!
  12. Back to sunshine with light fluffy clouds. Lovely warm evening. Just making gin & tonics and sit outside watching the blackbirds fighting!!! Rain damped soil down a bit so not watering today.
  13. Temp 18c now. Stopped raining and bits of blue sky showing. garden looks refreshed!
  14. It’s raining, no thunder though just steady rain. Temp now is 20c. amazing weather so far with most days 24 to 27c.
  15. Great for gardens, heavy rain in the night. Just what we needed, it was getting like the Sahara out there! Sunny but broken cloud yesterday and lovely and warm for gardening and relaxing with the pa pers and a cup of tea in my deckchair. Blackbirds fighting and bathing in their birdbath. Entertainment at its best!
  16. Oh dear, hope you don’t get blight, what a pain that is, just when they’re growing away well. Cross your fingers! rain thismorning, cleared away midday, bright but overcast now.
  17. Keep it there, I say! A real live summer at last. Nice steady light rain all night, great for the gardens and smells so fresh. the runner beans are running up their canes now! temp is 19c. No storm, thunder or lightning though.
  18. Should be fine. Mine are steaming away this last week with night temps well up.
  19. Absolutely pigging freezing with a cold nasty breeze. Think I’ll give up growing tomatoes!
  20. Midday 20.5c today. That’s hot for here. Envious of your 26 and 27c temps. Great day in the garden and watching the birds pinching the fur off the trunk of a trachycarpus tree! That nest must be cozy! ?
