  1. The Met have much more info / data to work with than us so the warning will be justified along the coast where they have indicated . Agree though that showers can be pretty much hit and miss but I wont be surprised if we have a dusting in the morning
  2. Been coming down steady for last 15 mins in Whitley bay just now , nice covering already , good to see near coast for a change
  3. Chucking it down with snow again now in Whitley bay !!, huge shower just on us but think it will be last decent one
  4. Yes and agree for higher routes but don't think warnings were required for the coast , hardly ever are down here to be fair !
  5. Don't like to bash the met office but the warnings this week have been shocking . Us on east coast all week for frequent snow showers, hardly been any. The amber warning today , yes we are not in it but looking at radar its does not look disruptive unless im jumping the gun and its a system coming in later
  6. Does nark me when the met always say wintry showers. This week we have had total snow when the showers have come but its always in the forecast as wintry showers, I suppose its covers all outcomes
  7. Wednesday 21 Dec - Friday 30 Dec Early in the period and around Christmas conditions are likely to be less cold than of late though still rather cold in the north. Temperatures in the south more likely to be around average. Spells of rain and stronger winds are likely at times, these mainly impacting central and southern areas. Some northern areas are likely to see wintry showers. Away from the north, any snow will probably be restricted to hills though there is a chance snow could fall to lower levels. Towards New Year, there is the potential for a more settled spell bringing overnight frost and some morning fog patches before a trend towards changeable but probable a little milder condition around the turn of the year. 8. Concern this as im on the coast but I check Neil Bradshaw weather as he's close at South Shields and showing below freezing still with dew point at -1.8 though it has crept up a little but we should be ok
  9. The Met did forecast showers today would make it inland more. We have had a very heavy one this morning at Whitley Bay and that next clump looks a hit!!
  10. Just not been our week tbh . The wind direction has not helped . I think initially it was a northerly to NE winds forecast which would have drove these showers in . To see the huge clumps drift past out sea is hard to take but plenty of winter left and we will get our turn . I will say the fog and ice / frost has made it much more seasonal compared to other years so that's been a plus point
