  1. Amber has just been extended to my neck of the Wiltshire woods (aka farmland)
  2. Finally the rain has stopped. Drove to Trowbridge at 5pm and the lanes were already covered in surface water. Some houses in our village have flooded I believe and our lane is under a few inches of water. Fingers crossed it will have receded by the time the sun rises.
  3. West Wilts wind has picked up over the last hour. Rain seems to have reduced in rate. Sources: scientific VELUX window rain check and listening to the wind. Bedside light has flickered a couple of times - the recently realised joys of over-ground electricity source after living towns for most of my life.
  4. A handful of pics from Charlton Kings and up into the Cotswolds to the east of Cheltenham yesterday. First picture was at 7.30am and it snowed heavily until about 4pm.
  5. A couple of pics of the sky above Box Hill. Now getting rained on!
  6. Hearing regular distant thunder rumbles here in Dorking. Somewhere nearby must be having a good storm.
  7. Alas, no. It was just a heavy rain shower. Edit: that’s not to say it won’t become something. It just wasn’t anything of note.
  8. Fourth load of thunder in Dorksville this month. Along with biblical rain and hail.
  9. Storming in Dorking. It needs to end in 45 minutes so I can walk home without the threat of being struck by lightning ️
  10. Living north of Gatwick, I am playing a game of plane or thunder
  11. First couple of rumbles heard in Dorking and rain has started. I was watching tv with my headphones on so not sure if there was anything earlier.
  12. This beauty just passed overhead and brought back the crazy strong winds for a short time. Now it’s clearing to the east.
  13. Thanks . Still got power here. Safe crossing and onward travels.
  14. Gusts are seriously picking up on the NE coast of the Isle of Wight. Nearly saw a family got blown away. There seems to be a pattern of big gusts with overcast skies followed by sunny spells.
  15. Tide is almost fully in 2.5 hours early! Temp location: NE Isle of Wight
  16. I was supposed to be on the 9am from Fishborne. The tide round here in Seaview is ridiculously high but there is still 2.5 hours until high tide. I have closed all the sea wall gates that were open overnight . Fingers crossed our corner of Surrey comes out unscathed. I still have anxiety about 1987 and I was only four!
  17. I am away on the IoW praying my roof stays on so will be good to hear your updates from Dorksville. I am in the process of selling and this could certainly derail the process slightly
  18. Ha ha, that is how high the tide is . I am down on the Isle of Wight and was supposed to go home this morning. Decided to wait out the storm and head back tomorrow.
  19. Not sure if I am going mad but low tide was only an hour and a half ago and This water is way higher than I would expect it to be. for reference - this is what low tide usually looks like… And it is spring tides so low should be low low
  20. Will anyone tell me what these clouds are called and if they signify the imminent arrival of a front?
  21. Same just around the coast in Seaview! But the sky to the west has turned an weird shade of grey.
