Hi, hope everyone is doing well and keeping warm. I'm in two minds about this winter, on one hand I want nice cold days with a chance of snow and on the other hand I want cool but dry days so we can finish off the work being done to the house. Once the work is done then it can turn cold so we can find out if the work helps with keeping our house warm. I've also had solar installed so now I want sunny days. I am also happy to say we've had a nice dusting of snow in the morning and it was still there in the shaded areas. Now I would love some more.

At this point I don't mind the cloud cover, as long as it doesn't rain over the weekend because I really would like to cut the grass and not have the mover jammed up. Its been a real pain doing that this summer, every weekend I am waiting for the grass to dry out just enough to get it cut.

Yeah, its been a meh winter. On the one hand I'm happy about the warmer temperatures because this house is leaking heat like sieve, in the current climate we've used 900l of oil in just over a month and a halve. We really need to get this house insulated but I fear its not going to be a quick process. On the other hand, I WANT SNOW!

Hi all, Lets see what this winter got in store for us, we have moved house over the summer. +-100 meters vertically up which should improve our chances.

It got down to 8.2°c last night. This is the lowest its gone in over a year.

It is my coldest night so far at a chilly -7.4°c currently or so the thermostat in the back garden is telling me.

From my short personal observation we seem to have either +5°c and rain or -5°c and clear skies. I much more prefer the cold then the wet. This morning was absolutely lovely with everything frozen with little crystal everywhere

Snowing here, it's a little better then before and trying to cover everything but I can still see the road and grass.

It's been snowing here on and off since yesterday but nothing wants to stick around. We had a good dumping earlier but what was there has already melted away. The kids were really excited but by the time we got to school all their hopes of playing in the snow was gone.

Metoffice has snowflakes for me at 22:00 and 23:00. It will be very nice if this becomes a reality.

That's what I keep saying, if this rain was only snow. I'll be over the moon if we could get halve of the amount of rain that fell today as snow
