    Biggin they are mammatus clouds from thunderstorms, they look particularly ominous during sunsets with different colours coming through they are nothing new lol

    But they did happen though, whether it hits a certain location or not. Surely its silly to expect 100% accuracy every square mile of the country?

    Tbf, they predicted the northern blocking episode in January, which did happen by the way, and they did a pretty good job in predicting these deep storms before they even existed. So perhaps they haven't been wrong all winter.

    markyo tbh I agree there hasn't been barely any wintry months since 2010, I was just commenting on it but I could be wrong of course.

    markyo I'm pretty sure March 2013 was more than 2.5 below average.

    Even deserts struggle to reach 50 degrees, that's synoptically impossible on an island this far north. 40c was a push at the upper limit of what was possible in the most extreme setup.

    Its not really a frost hollow it's half a mile from the coast and it was much colder than forecast last night, was predicted no lower than 5c but ended up 7c lower.

    -1.6c the low funny how the south coast is the coldest place in the region, not often that happens.

    Is the current shoreham airport reading of -0.5c correct? It feels cold but everywhere around here is much warmer, seems odd?

    Isn't all fog damp? Lol. It was foggy here last night but must've cleared during the early hours as the breeze picked up.

    @Callie it's gusting in the 40s mostly on our part of the south coast, we're used to more than that, so no need for a yellow warning imo.

    In terms of winds strength pretty similar to isha here, gusting in the 30s maybe 40s, nothing of note so far. Mild but I wouldn't say warm at 11c

    I start looking for warmth in March, however like you I don't mind a late cold spell in march or an early warmer spell in late February.

    Sounds good to me, I like lively Atlantic storms, squall lines and cold fronts with bright blue skies in between. Proper weather action!

    Pressure was down to around, 940s or 950s was it? That's a storm in any day and age.
