    I'm pretty sure Jan 1996 was quite mild, it was the December and February that were cold.

    I feel like im in a different country sometimes with snow cover everywhere but here, here it's just cold with puddles everywhere just like in autumn, atleast it's been frosty. Should be icy in the morning especially if everything ices over.

    Hopefully something pops up midweek. Get the cold in and... it still rains.. at least most of the Region have seen snow and not just up north I must say, good pictures!

    A vague sugar dusting on parts on the ground here during a light snow shower, shame it has stopped because it shows that it has no problem settling.

    A frigid -6c at shoreham airport this morning. About 200m from the sea.

    My first year competing in the competition and have come first in the ewp, and second in cet. I'm amazed! Has there ever been anyone to come first in both?

    A chilly but sunny start here too at 4.6c, probably got colder at the airport.

    Rain cleared here around 3pm to leave mainly clear skies, wind switched from SE to SW as it cleared reached 11.5c now dropping under the clearer skies.

    That second chart suggests over 300mm of rain here and only halfway through the month, that's insanity. That's half of our annual rainfall so no suprise everywhere is flooded. So why are people saying we still need rain?!

    Lots of flooding here too, just had an amazing torrential shower with very strong gusty winds, looked like a hurricane outside.

    Currently raining hard with strong winds and 12c feels cold compared to the last few days.

    Reached 12.1c coldest day in a long time and sunny most of the day, nice little break from the rain until it returns tomorrow.

    It makes no sense, how can there be flooding and still under drought restrictions at the same time?

    I would agree rain fall has made a good recovery at least here anyway, on and off torrential showers today between brighter spells and the first storm of the season last night unexpectedly.

    Just had the heaviest rain I've ever seen lasted about 5 minutes, my road is underwater. Very surprised there was no lightning.

    Lots of trees down around the area and gardens destroyed. Not surprising given they're almost in full leaf still and have suffered near enough 70mph gusts. Seemed very localised to the extreme south?

    I absolutely love days like today in the autumn. Torrential downpours blown in on a gusty gale, sunshine in between, after what was a wild night!

    I am on the coast and it's very windy, lots of loud bangs and crashes, almost a constant roar.
