  1. I wouldn't focus too much on models for now. They seem to chop and change quite a bit and often lead to disappointment. I'd just watch the rain radar and/or skies.
  2. It’d be good if this rain approaching from the west could give us an unexpected surprise. The models haven’t exactly been totally reliable recently so who knows
  3. Is it worth staying up overnight to see what/if anything happens or is it better to just wake up tomorrow early in the morning? It must be said, it doesn’t sound very inspiring from what I’ve read so far today.
  4. The UKV chart gives us living in more central locations some hope, although it seems like there's a trend to keep shunting it eastwards, and will be confined to the SE and parts of East Anglia.
  5. I can already see everything developing anywhere east of here. Don’t know why I’m getting excited as it’ll most likely lead to disappointment
  6. I’d be happy with that. Gives at direct hit for both the West and East Midlands. Can’t remember the last time we’ve had a decent storm.
  7. Still ages away to be pinpointing locations as to who will see what. Wednesday night is when I will start to get interested in any forecasts and potential developments.
  8. Does anyone know how far East these showers will make it or whether they’ll just die out as the evening progresses?
  9. Looking at the cloud satellite animation, cloud has rapidly developed within the last hour across Wales, Central and Northern areas. The sun is almost covered by the amount of cloud there is here now.
  10. Something developing just to the south of Leicester? Conditions feel right for it - very muggy and sticky right now.
  11. Small chance of a few isolated thundery showers developing tomorrow afternoon by the looks of it. Developing over the Midlands and East of England moving northeastwards.
  12. Initially going by yesterdays forecast it seemed like there was only going to be a few isolated showers today, however looking at the radar its full of them! Is it because of the increased sunshine we've had today, thus warm air rising creating more showers?
  13. Just had a torrential hail shower here in Leicester. Lasted for around 5-10 minutes. Really surprised there was no thunder or lightning embedded with it but it was certainly a ground soaker.
  14. Pretty much a bust today. Not one drop of rain here so far today.
  15. Showers developing around the South Wales - West Midlands border.
  16. Tomorrow afternoon and into the evening looks interesting for Central areas with heavy, thundery showers moving east.
  17. Just because it will rain doesn’t mean its pointless. We need rain just as much as we need sun and everything else. It’s no good having a long, dry period of weather, just like it’s no good having a long spell of wet weather. Both have devastations in their own way.
  18. I think the output will keep chopping and changing until we are in a reliable timeframe. Still, it’s encouraging to see the possibility of low pressure incoming at the end of the week and into next week.
  19. To me I think we're more likely to see 'thundery rain' - moderate to heavy rain with a few rumbles of thunder. During this lull, I'd like to ask; do you prefer to see lightning/lightning strikes or hear the boom of thunder?
  20. I'll just be happy for a decent bit of rain. It'll give the gardens a much needed water with another dry week ahead incoming.
  21. Has there been many instances where mother nature just does what it wants and completely ignores the predicted outputs of the models in regards to storms popping up unexpectedly? Not saying we're going to get a full on storm out of the blue tonight but I was just curious to know if this has happened before?
  22. Same here in Leicester (not the fires thankfully). We’ve not had rain in what seems weeks but looking at the radar it looks like we could see a few drops at least!
