Yep I think that's why there was alot of emotion on this one as a White Christmas is the Holy grail. Some posts yesterday over stepped the mark but understandable as this was on a knife edge just one low pressure system wanting to kiss another screwed us all.
Thank god we had that snow in early December because the charts are not pretty viewing this morning. Average and wet sums it up as we head into New year. Feel for the Southerners I know my family in Somerset haven't see a flake since 2018. Was hoping a nice White Xmas or Boxing day was on the cards. But nope oh well let's see if Jan can deliver.
Icon was just as bad showed a foot of snow a few days ago for Xmas in the mids. In Winter normally a model spots a slight different path of a low and scuppers our snow prospects.
All models imo are rubbish anything past 72hrs in Winter due to our tiny island and microscopic changes effecting even nailed on Easterlies.
Youe sure have a thing for the Icon lol.
I wouldn't give it to much credit. It was still flip flopping about like a dodgy sandal on a beach. The problem was the Nirvana charts that were the Dream scenario and we all dare to dream. All models at times have backed away wich always tells me they are struggling with the synoptics and final evolution. And like clockwork get it in the 72hrs window and shortwaves show up like a damm conga. Positive this morning is things can only get better.
Horrible day weather wise. Very windy and torrential cold rain. Can't see snow for the Midlands except maybe the Derbyshire region on higher ground tomorrow. Models are volatile but remove any real snow prospects for at least the next 2 weeks. But after the snow last week feel kind of easy about it and just waiting for our next opportunity.
