has anyone noticed that the wind seems to be decreasing the snow cover. i dont mean by blowing it around. i mean in general a little un-noticed thaw. whats this to do with? temps currently nowhere near as low as last night! only -2. it was -5.6 last night n heavy snow!

yep paul hudson not my fav anymore hes been terrible n low beat for ages. what a fantasti few days. deep snow n bitter. just a shame we cant finish this cold spell with a big bang!! like the south. if only she'd have moved northwards n deepened.

and i think i speak for most on here when i say- i was really genuinly quietly so excited for lots of snow showers from this easterly n deep snow like met office said only last night. isnt it a shame when we have such anazing synoptics that dont produce the goods. apart from the north east of course. even easterlues in the past we did better than the north east. all i wanted folks was to re-live sone childhood memories of knee deep snow that i cant really remember anymore, just by photos

also whilst im at it Q2. do we always have to rely on a ssw for an easterly. have severe easterloes in the past happened without one??

i know very much about the weather but i cant mke of this.. please can some experiened member inform me here please. why is yorks not getting lit up by snow whilst the north east is and yet the winds arent even easterly yet...?? we shud be a sweet spot i just dnt get it. sausages anyone n a pint?!

we shud have all been sat here tonight excited about heaby frequent snow showers all nighy n all day tomorrw. even that was forecasted upto last night. yes euro4 showed heavy snow over us but no doubt thats changed. the met app has now dwngraded and there txt has too after the best update last night but then last nights update was wrong. and if friday they get a dumping dwn there then thats typical. temps wise by evening n night yes its a beast but not so by day. snow shouldnt struggle to settle in this so called sib air. but friday wud hav been no prb for us if wed have had all the snow showers bef4 hand. its great here with -3/-4 and 2inches of snow but nothing incoming apart from a little further north. the winds havent even swung easterly yet. so disapointing. and fri originally looked so so good didnt it. so a mega cold air source without a proper breakdwn just slowly milder. nxt year our region will win. oh no sorry it wont.

amber warning looks brilliant but again misses us! typical really. this has been dreadful for yorks. will never look forward to an easterly again. seems impossible to get snow here now!! in lost for words-literally.

im here. lovely start to day in north leeds at 150m. about 2 inches. was nice. but guess wht it feels like spring now. melt melt melt. where are these cold uppers n sub zero temos!! nonsense. again not seeing much today either. not even windy-windchill haha nonsense.

well ot looks like what i was saying is reality. if tonight turns out a total bust when radio leeds, look north, euro4, met app, bbc, amber warning all have us dwn as heavy snow then i totally give up n will trust no forecaster. it will mke this week look a damp quib let dwn! i cannot see frequent showers tues n wed whatsoeber. all over hyped im afraid and a lot of pros could look rather daft. reduce wages i say.

they wont update the met warnings later. we were all hoping they would but havent.

i just feel that everything is being overplayed i had more heavy settling snow showers for 3-6hours in a north westerly want to be proved wrong but were nearly first day dwn with nothing noteworthy but cold.

very disapointed they havent extended that amber area going by gfs and not even updated any other warnings. all this ramping by pros n news etc. well you wouldnt think the beast from the east has arrived after this morning little excitement has all but vapourised. feels just like a standard cold winter day.

i cant see anything about this.
