  1. It just had to happen! @lassie23 you get despondent and expect nothing whilst I keep my hopes up, I have nothing at all heading my way whilst you will get some action
  2. Some of the regional threads are very inactive through most of the season and I think if you make extra regional specific threads on just convection it'd only make that worse, best to stick to the this thread for insight and then post in here and your regional when you get some action, that may help activity in your specific regional thread, although I agree it can be frustrating coming into a big thread where someone has a huge storm when there's nothing at all at your location.
  3. Which lightning map? Not seen a strike on NW radar or lightning maps yet
  4. I wouldn't call it quits so early, last time I did that I slept through a pretty decent event. Nothing is forecast for our area until much later, and what was forecast for the SW/central southern areas earlier is a lot more widespread than anticipated, this bodes well for our chances later
  5. I still have my hopes up there will be something in the area at some time around midnight, like surrey said more cells could pop up in due course, there's currently a lot of activity leaving northern france west of Caen, but it has a hell a lot of distance to cover, at least 4 hours for that lot to arrive, that's if it doesn't decay
  6. Convective weather and Netweather had us under slight/marginal risks and estofex under a level 1, but for us the potential isnt there until late evening and we may not get anything going until as late as around midnight, so we have to sit tight.
  7. You got a link to where you can get that info moki? Would be useful in future
  8. Nothing here not even drizzle, the sun keeps changing its mind whether it wants to break through the clouds, but if I can't get any flashbangs tonight a downpour of petits pois would do me just fine
  9. Lol roll on much more sunshine and storms so lassie can get his burgers and baps going on the bbq! Hoping to see at least 1 36c day this summer!
  10. What was your top temp moki, currently 24.2c here Managed 26.2c yesterday!
  11. City airport managed 26c today, its crazy to think that we've gone from struggling to see 5c just 3 weeks ago to nearly hitting 30c yesterday!
  12. Last time I was hit with a MCS was I think July 19rd 2017? Not subscribed right now so can't see the radar archives but that was brilliant, did you get much from it? It was an absolute corker here, constant rumbles and about 90 flashes per minute for 2 hours between 2 & 4 am Stayed up for the whole thing, luckily had a covered balcony haha
  13. Forgot how slow some storm systems move, I've been tracking the one in northern France even though it's not coming this way, it looks to have moved about 30 miles in over 2 hours!
  14. Looking forward to tomorrows BBC London news, "commuters bombarded with funny coloured foul smelling stringy bird poo, mainly concentrated around NW London"
  15. I don't think so, it's been downgraded from what little potential there was shown in the forecast last night, now it looks like the possible small event kent clipper shown last night will now only hit norfolk, and that's if they're lucky. http://www.convectiveweather.co.uk/forecast.php?date=2018-04-09 Not something worth staying up for in my opinion, unless lightningmaps suddenly kicks into life with what little risk there is, estofex doesn't even show a whiff of interest for the UK
  16. Probably for me yeah, I recorded a record 19 days of thunder last year which I doubt I'll beat any time soon. Convective weather does have a slight risk for me tomorrow night though, just about!
  17. Sorry guys my fault, I got the summer swing and table/chairs out yesterday.
  18. Don't you mean a BBQ eater? aka, you? A dull day here with continuous cloud that's never really broken up, 11c
