  1. I'm pretty sure anyone looking for a screw zone could likely find one down one of the aisles in Wickes I'm not sure if it's a good place to view storms from though!
  2. The balcony here today got up to a blistering 55c in the sun, way too hot to sunbathe, would end up with heat stroke!
  3. 34c recorded at Brize Norton @ 4pm, not sure why it wasn't showing earlier! odd
  4. It will be interesting watching the minimum temperatures overnight around the country, if somewhere can stay above 23.9c then we would have broken the UK highest minimum daily temperature that was set in Brighton on August 4th 1990. Netweather gives us a place to view this easily - http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=current;type=maxt Some of the charts are showing interest
  5. I must be a martian then! The sky is lovely, but the humidity and heat needs to bugger off! Can't get any jobs done outside it's too hot humid and sweaty Only worth it if we get a storm at the end IMO, can't stand it!
  6. Or they can leave you saying, the weather will do what it does and I can carry out my daily business without worrying over something I have no control over
  7. Just realised why not much was showing on lightningmaps, I had it set to show only strikes of the last few minutes
  8. Can hear a few louder rumbles here now, and the rain is starting to pick up, driving to the west I think I could see for miles, which is why I see so many flashes, lightning maps does look to be pretty accurate, most of the strikes I see were likely over london at the time, still a waiting game, but the rumbles are getting louder gonna have my eye on radar and lightning maps now for a couple of hours!
  9. Not much showing on the radar, but driving back to pitsea I could see loads of elevated flashes to the west in the distance, and can now hear distance rumbles here too with flashes every 40s or so oh and for once here in pitsea I have a view to the right direction! I was worried earlier thinking I would be maybe too far west, and would be a little better off in Benfleet, but now I'm not so sure, looks like there's a lot of elevated activity in the west!
  10. Not much showing on the radar, but driving back to pitsea I could see loads of elevated flashes to the west in the distance, and can now hear distance rumbles here too with flashes every 40s or so, for once here in Pitsea I also have a view in the right direction! I was worried earlier thinking I would be maybe too far west, and would be a little better off in Benfleet, but now I'm not so sure, looks like there's a lot of elevated activity in the west!
  11. Some good views from the brighton webcam http://magicseaweed.com/Live-Brighton-West-Pier-Webcam/67/ Edit this site needs an account to view long clips, and it doesn't seem to continue streaming, it just records a 9m clip and then displays it, not great, but may be good for watching back at a busy time and capturing screenshots of lightning!
  12. Just a quick question, on lightningmaps where you click to show experimental strokes, are these additional strokes that aren't verified, or just alternative locations of the 'normal' strokes already displayed? Them 'cells' around brighton amounted to nothing, but there are more potent ones now developing off the east coast of kent
  13. Looks like 2 small cells are now starting to develop on the south coast around brighton
  14. May have a look out for this, I'm close by and told mum there may be storms later, she also see it on the forecast but said the sky looks fine right now, would be interesting to show her a mammatus, I can't remember the last time I witnessed one What direction are you looking?
  15. For hinting at a comparison and potential for development or playing down the chances earlier? I'm not sure which one lol
  16. I should've taken more notice of the forecasts over the last few days, knew it was going to be warm today but didn't know about the humidity. Walked back from college earlier today in a my fleece and felt like a wet sponge!
  17. Thats a pretty slow moving shooting star for being in frame for 3 whole minutes
  18. Patience! A few strikes were had earlier and it may further grow, plus there should be a few more cells to pop up yet within the area!
