  5. Finally got some quetiapine ☺️ just 50mg starter and increase 25 per day, until 450, stay steady until march, then reassessment on the 5th

    2. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

mainly for schizophrenia / bipolar but also good for depression and sleep I have none of that but wanted something stronger to calm the intrusive thoughts and to help me sleep, dad came down the clinic with me at the assessment and they wouldn't do anything when I asked them, so he sat in there for 7 hours asking for the doctor every half hour, they eventually gave in an put me on the quetiapine, , it was the key worker that suggested it but doctors were hesitant due to it being addictive, have to see the GP every week until my next detox to make sure theres no issues, otherwise I'll be taken off of it and put on something else

      Essex Easterly.

Meant I have none of the schiz or bipolar lol ^^^^, depression and sleep issues are what the new pills are being used for, been taken off of everything else until I can get my mind straight and the drink down enough for certain meds to work

  6. Found the last set of keys 😄 Put them in a bag with all the window spacers! Have to hunt for the shed keys today, which I lost yesterday. Seem to be on an endless mission of losing and looking for keys Lol

Probably faster just to grind the padlock off and buy a new one, instead of having the mower destroyed by water leakage lol

      lassie23

is your mower an AI one, hopefully, it can become self-aware and move itself

Lol the last thing anyone needs are self aware lawn mowers, wake up in the middle of the night with an arm missing

  7. Lost another set of keys 🤬 Off to the house to go hunting for them, I want my memory back 😕

Lol I am preying for snow, if we get a load of rain it'll just freeze into ice overnight and make friday morning hell

  8. I'm such an idiot, spent the last hour searching the flat for my keys, then see a text on my phone from the doctors stating I left them on the GP's desk, can't go to pick them up cos I can't lock the door 🙄 Both parents at work all day too, think I'll have to get a neighbour to look after the flat and spend a £20 taxi trip to pick them up 😕 gah.. why am I talking to myself 🤪

I have done the same thing last Saturday when I lost my keys in my flat.  Luckily, I found them on the floor in the front room as they must fallen out of my bag.  I am always losing things and finding them in strange places.

    3. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

Haha, keys are one of the worst things to lose, I was going out my mind with worry thinking I'd have to cancel all my appointments next week if I couldn't find them, living in a council flat the council charge £25 for a new set and don't hand them out during weekends! Luckily my mum picked up the keys for me yesterday during GP extended hours, should have them back with me today!

  9. Finally found a doctor at CDAS who will put me on quetiapine and naltrexone, got to give it 24hrs to get the drink out my system and 2 days to rationalise my mood before I see them to be breathalysed again, then get a prescription, then its cold turkey time again when I start the new meds 😕

By the sounds of it EE, I think an inpatient detox is the best course of action for you.  It's what I had, and they look after you and keep an eye on your withdrawals and change medication accordingly.  It's a much safer environment than doing it at home on your own and they kept me in for 10 days, which is the amount of time it took for me to recover from the physical side of withdrawals.  They also put me on a medicine called 'Campral' which can help with cravings etc.  I took that for a year afterwards and I really do think it helped with the cravings and breaking the habit of drinking.  I still get cravings for a drink - this Christmas was probably my toughest, but the habit of daily drinking was broken by then, plus I don't think I will ever forget how ill, both physically and mentally I was through drinking that I really don't want to go through it again.  You can do it EE, but you must be in the right frame of mind to do it, and to do it for yourself and no one else.  Speak to your doctor or key worker about being put on the waiting list for inpatient detox.  Good luck x

      Essex Easterly.

I have been on campral, acamprosate? in the past, but was drinking too heavily at the time for it to do any good. I've also had a supervised detox too, which was on the 8th november, aided by librium for 9 days but relapsed shortly after. Can't do another until at least June time due to the effects on the body, so stuck at the moment with trying to cut down, still going to my group sessions and now been put into a relatives group for additional support with the family. If I can get my drinking to a very low level the doctor at the addiction center is willing to put me onto naltrexone. Today's session at the GP with family wasn't much help, they refused to put me onto any kind of sedative to help me reduce, which was advised by the key worker, instead they are getting me off of current medication and going to try and find an alternative, but I need to be weened off of the current medication first.

8th of October, not November, couldn't edit the post above 🤔

  10. What a damn horrendous night last night 😡😡😡😡😡 Get dropped off home by old bill and end up down the hospital only to be told I cannot be assessed due to alcohol, now off to the docs to get antipsychotics and then a visit from a crisis team

      Essex Easterly.

Got nowhere with the doctors, refused to put me on any medication, can't do another detox as last one was in October, have to wait until June, hospital wouldn't do a thing, been referred to the top doctor at the local surgery now. Was in A&E for nearly 15 hours lol. Tried cold turkey hadn't drank from 3pm Friday until last night but the withdrawal got too much, violent shakes, confusion and memory loss, had a friend come over to look after me and ended up going back to the bottle. Got to try again, need to find something to make it easier and try to cut down slowly again 😕

  11. Christmas, the time of ear why novody questions why im drunk 😄

  12. Anyone know if a sprain would cause this much swelling? Was moving a wardrobe yesterday and bent my thumb back 45 degrees, heard a loud crack, now it absolutely kills and only moves a few cm. Spoke to out of hours doctor but can't see anyone until tomorrow, unless I go down A&E for a cast and xray, also should I bandage it up or keep on excising it so that it doesn't lock up?

      Lol unwritten rule re sunday.

Also over-the-counter water soluble extra strength solpadeine tablets can work really well as opposed to an oral gel (can also be used in conjunction with the gel). Just bear in mind that it contains codeine, it is a derivative of opiate. Try not to go crazy on it otherwise you can get dependant on it.

    3. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

@Optimus Prime Thanks! I've bandaged it up now  to the palm of my hand and have had it under a cold tap most of last night but that didn't do too much for the swelling, woke up to a thumb twice as large as it was before I went to bed lol. I've got soluable solpadeine here with me and got my dad to go out to pick up some of the ibuprofen gel, will call the doctors first thing in the morning for an emergency appointment.

I've done this myself unlikley broken thumb and wrist swelled up for about 10 days painfull at first then eased

  13. Had my endoscopy done 🙂 took 30 mins trying to get needles into my veins for sedation, 3rd attempt they got blood, then the trainee endoscopist forgot to administer sedation anyway, he then got the tube stuck in my gullet so the senior doctor took over, more painful than expected but eventually got there, and had some colon tissue taken for biopsy. Confirmed sliding hiatus hernia, so going to see the specialist in a few weeks for the biopsy results and next step, hopefully just a diet change and acid reducers instead of keyhole surgery. At least I know now why I am sick a lot and have constant ab/chest pains

    1. Katrine Basso

      Katrine Basso

EE, I am very sorry to hear about your awful time having your endoscopy clinic.  I hope that that you won't need to have keyhole surgery and that the treatment and diet change will be beneficial.

    2. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

Thanks, the hospital gave me a list of things things I should be eating to help with the condition as well as what I should avoid, but said it depends on each person how their body digests food, so I need to experiment a bit to find out what is best for me 🙂 Have another round of fasting blood tests tomorrow which should reach the specialist within the middle of next week, hoping for good results!

  14. Thought I'd be adventurous with food after not eating for 28 hours, Potato waffles with ketchup and salad cream, what a bad idea that was, just a heads up 😂 Knew I should have gone with ketchup and mayo if I was going to mix anything

I get stomach issues and I know how horrible it is. Fingers crossed it's not too bad. :)

    3. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

Back now, I spoke to a new doctor who checked BP and pulse, also checked my stomach, BP was slightly high and pulse was not too bad, 112 resting rate. I asked for my endoscopy to be changed to urgent instead of waiting for the 26th, but they said, even if I went to A&E I'd not have it done today as of needing a general anesthetic for it, which needs me to see a specialist first. He said the earliest that can be arranged is in 2 weeks, but that would take me to the 21st anyway, so only 5 days difference, they also refused to put me on any anti craving medication as I'll be going onto Naltrexone on the 13th anyway hopefully.

  15. When it rains it really does pour, with a full on monsoon, mum has just gone to her fiancees house to let him know it's over, after 14 years, and is cheating on him with the same guy as last time (who is a nice bloke). What else is going to go wrong next? 🤨 Not sure what to expect when she gets home. I must sound like I live with the family from hell with my status updates 😔

    3. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

I've spoken to dad and he said its fine for me to stay here now with mums fiancee out of the picture, just have to confirm with mum, will make it much easier for taxis to pick me up the 6 days a week for the community rehab, from one location, all essex county council funded. Need to get that emergency GP appointment tomorrow though and try to sort mums phone out get it unlocked from her Apple ID account, confirm its network unlocked through itunes, apart from the fact I'm about a month from passing away I am all good, still trying to eat, but cant ant the moment due to stress/anxiety/alcohol/depression/ stomach issues, will find out what on earth is going on inside me soon! Just in a lot of pain, physically now more than mentally

  16. Finally sorted out rehab placement, after about 18 phone calls and miss directed numbers over 3 hours! Should get a welcome pack and call by the end of the week, all info is also going to the key worker, all that hard work eventually paid off!

    1. Katrine Basso

      Katrine Basso

That is wonderful news to hear that you have finally being given a rehab placement.  It's fantastic to hear that all the hard work and persistence has finally paid off.👍

  17. Thought Sundays were supposed to be relaxing? Today went down like a bag of horse poo, first find out dads been sacked for punching his boss, next thing I'm pushing myself out going to his girlfriends with him for dinner, sick again, ask to have a nap, go for the nap, they're arguing over bed sheets and the fathers girlfriends nephew comes storming down the stairs for dad exploding at his girlfriend calling her all sorts, fight breaks out and the police get called, im told to leave just before i go to sleep and end up getting a taxi home, throw up in that and had to pay an extra £60 on top of my fare for the clean up... Thought things were supposed to be getting better not the opposite? Oh and I have no idea where dad is.. I assume in custody 😕

Been calling his phone since the argument with the nephew but it's been switched off, so hes either at the pub and run out of battery, broken his phone, or is in custody and they have turned it off. I have no clue 😑

    3. lassie23

      lassie23

surprised his boss didn't get him arrested

    4. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

The way he is at the moment, I'm suprised hes not in prison to be honest lol. He came home last night in the end and apologised for what happened, but refused to tell me where he went. He's gone to work now and switched his phone off again

  18. Today is going to be a good day!! I need to turn today around.

Trying to ignore withdrawals, woken up by police trying to get into next door again, next thing I know im at the toilet throwing up blood. Lets turn this day around and do something positive with it 🤗🤗🤗🤗

EE, I wouldn't wait till Monday, if you aren't already there get yourself to hospital.

    3. snow raven

      snow raven

Hi EE, you shouldn't be trying to detox from alcohol without some kind of medical help.  I had to go as an inpatient in a detox unit where I was looked after by qualified medical staff and given medication to help with the withdrawals.  Are you on a waiting list for a detox unit? If you are, it's best to wait until you are admitted.  If not, please visit your GP or contact your support worker to discuss tomorrow.

    4. Essex Easterly.

      Essex Easterly.

I've already had a detox on librium but have relapsed, and now cant eat due to being sick all the time throwing up bile and blood, I'm going to see the GP tomorrow to see If I can get some valium to help me cut back down on the drink again, if that fails tomorrow I'll probably be sent to hospital for an emergency endoscopy, the one I have booked is not until the 26th and I'll be in rehab at that time if I can get myself well enough to start it, the placement is booked for the 19th, and I really don't want to be withdrawing in there, as its community based and they cannot detox you within the center

  19. Need to get out of this hell hole, attacked by dad last night but no police involvement as I defended myself, hands are wrecked through the scruffle, then I decide to do something positive by walking back to the flat from pitsea and end up with a group of kids giving me gestures and having a bottle thrown to the back of my head, next time that happens the offender is going to be in hospital

  20. What a pain in the back side trying to get a trip to las vegas with a criminal record, have to first get a new passport £72.50 (current one is non expired but damaged) new photo, apply for visa application $160, have an interview, fill out criminal record form, get a ACPO certificate from the police for £45, then book an interview with US embassy, and then pay £18 to get my passport back. Thats almost £260 all just to see if I'm allowed entry! Will not be happy if I pay all that and find out it was for nothing 😨
