  1. Latest radar shows a few very light showers developing around the Thames estuary/Essex coast area. Not likely to be anything but maybe a few flakes of snow possible.
  2. Some beefy looking showers further north out of our region towards NE England. We need this precip hanging around EA to bugger off so we can get in on the convective action.
  3. The last beast spoiled me, my expectations of this again were silly. Still nice to see snow falling though.
  4. With the last beast there was no mud to be seen. Was very alpine like
  5. Crazy chart. If you looked at this chart not knowing the date, you would think it's mid winter not almost April!
  6. Things beginning to look very interesting now regarding another beast/easterly.
  7. Light snow has just started here. Just outside Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk.
  8. Looking at the radar, where is this afternoon's possible snow supposed to move in from? Doesn't appear to be much showing up.
  9. The precip on the south eastern flank coming up from France could be a nice little surprise, especially if it keeps pushing north towards our region.
  10. Looks like tomorrow evening/night is our last chance of any snowfall across the region. I was very disappointed with this beast from the east on Mon/Tues, but boy yesterday changed my opinion completely. Almost heavy snow showers nonstop all day, leaving around 6-8 inches by sunset. This morning's snow was also a nice little surprise, and to have daytime temps of max -3 for two consecutive is amazing at any time, especially at this stage of winter. And to top it all off today's snow drifts are a thing of beauty. 10/10 for me this cold spell.
  11. Been snowing lightly all morning here just outside Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. Flakes now starting to get bigger and with more intensity.
  12. Looking good on this radar. https://www.buienradar.nl/nederland/neerslag/buienradar/3uurs
  13. Fingers crossed they don't fizzle out, but at least anything that falls now we don't have to worry about the sun
  14. Hopefully we all see more in the way of showers this evening and overnight. The showers seem to be building in the north sea now, and as the winds veer round more overnight some should get further inland.
  15. Looks like showers are slowly building around the Ipswich coast area. Let's see if these can grow and push inland.
  16. Hopefully we all see something over the next day or two. Was just expecting more shower activity over more of the region in all honesty.
  17. Was anyone expecting showers more widely across the whole region? Because I certainly was especially with such cold uppers over a relatively warm north sea, I know some coastal counties have done well, but for the rest of us it's been very disappointing up to now to say the least. Looks like tomorrow morning is the best hope for most of us, unless some showers can push further inland today/tonight.
  18. Anyone think that low in the north sea that is going to hit NE England might pep up the shower activity towards our region?
  19. I wouldn't worry too much what the BBC say, just keep watching the radar and surprises will come. We've already had a fair few showers today, and the instability is becoming greater as the afternoon/evening goes on.
  20. Surely with such cold dew points and uppers the frost/dusting of snow shouldn't be thawing in the shelter from the sun? Seems rather odd, obviously in the full sun you expect some thawing to happen, especially at this late stage of winter. But in the shade I thought the frost/snow would be safe especially with such cold uppers and dew points.
