I agree,wanted some rain for garden and got zero,wanted some storms and got zero.Tuesday was so close but yet so far.went east and south of here and cleared off south. Luckily i was off work when heat kicked in as i work in a warehouse and end up in loose loaded trailer which are awful in summer. All this heat and not even a Thundery breakdown here, so very dissapointing.

I work in a warehouse loading items onto a conveyor and sometime loose load from a trailer and they like a green house in the summer and when you trying to push yourself to get items loaded the heat is not welcome. Im not a big fan when the heat is 25+ in blazing sunshine beating down on you.I would rather have broken cloud and a gentle breeze.I prefer to have clouds to look at than endless blue sky. I dont mind dull and grey as long as its interesting to look at and we have a bit of sun.but like you say if this goes on for to long i soon get bored as i do like some sunshine. Today is cool,cloudy and a moderate breeze.stay like this and we struggle to hit 20c i think.Needs a bit more interest up there. :)

Thats true,I was just generalizing my ideal temps.be happy at those temps you posted.

Dont like temps near 30c,it not nice to work in or function well in.Dont even get the thundery breakdowns I would rather have high teens low 20s with sun and a breeze.mid 20's at a push.

How about Warwickshire ? or is it still to far north

Lets hope so,Lets hope tonight throws a surprise or 2.I do how ever think you got more chance than myself in this part of the midlands. I think all them years ago storms seem more special as there was no internet and it was a nice surprise.

Yes them Plume events back in the day where awesome,me and freind used to call them the half niners and would seem to go on for hours.I also remember being able to hear storms come to you from the SW and this was also during the day. You could here the distant deep rumbles get closer and closer and lo and behold the storm was with you.Last decent Night time storm i remember here was around 2006 which started around oxford and got here around 10 ish i think and lasted a good couple of hours.just remember lightning being all around me.Oh what i would give to go back to those days.

Glad there a lovely breeze out there today and was cloudy early on to make a pleasant walk.cloud has almost all gone but still got lovely breeze to help cool down the house.Sadly this heat will go out with a whimper.No sign of any storms here and what ever rain forecast has now almost all gone,infact very little now and need it for the garden.Bay of biscay used to give us nice storms here at one point but sadly no more or if it does it so very rare now a days.

Yet again storms cant make it this far north and the heat goes out with a whimper.Used to be a time when they used to regularly hit here but not now.Not even much in the way of rain now for here,was hoping for some rain for the garden as it needs it.deffo been a poor year here for storms.2 i think and have to except we will get less as the years go on.dont like the heat unless it does bring a storm.

The sitting and waiting is just so me.haha.Ive learnt now not to expect storms like we used to.even this part of the midlands there has been a decline.Yesterday got so close but yet so far.lovely cloud formation,watching Blitz and Real Time only to find it went east of here to south of here and then move away southwards. Last year did similar thing also with an evening/night storm.came so close and then moved away.it almost like it teases you.The thing i find with storms now is if you get one its a bonus if not oh well carry on with doing something else.Trust me ive had the pain and suffering of no storms in the past and have learnt to live with it now,Although storms are awesome and so rare and excites me i can no longer put all my heart into it like i used to cause the disappointment is so frustrating.Been there done that and wore the T-shirt. Storms in this part of the midlands does seem less now and i have to except it sadly,would be ironic tho with such a low risk today that a random storm comes overhead. Thats just wishful thinking but never say never.

Can see the tops of the cells to my east,look rather impressive.Sadly don't think Warwickshire or where i am will see any storms.Think just too far west.

OMG i must have tempted fate, quite a snow shower going on here now.

Wake up to find 3rd day of fresh snow covering albeit not much so as previous 2 days I expect it to melt.

Woke up to find another covering this morning after yesterdays covering had melted.

Roads getting slushy here now.sun tried to break through earlier but now gone again with very light snow falling in a gentle breeze.

yup snow still coming down here,being blown about in the wind.
