  1. Yep pretty much constant flashes as well looking West and North West not much thunder at the moment.
  2. Yeah should be able to see some flashes here as well as it heads North as I have a good view out that way.
  3. Wishful thinking as that brings it over to me as well but don't think it's heading that way probably looks like it's heading N/NW at the moment.
  4. Bit miffed as all the stuff seems to be going west of me again. Hoping another line forms further East or something so some more people can get in on the action as currently most of it is in the middle of nowhere.
  5. Don't think we'll be beating the record in my area which stands at 35.2 at Hawarden and happens to be the Wales record don't think anywhere in Wales is getting close to that. Not sure why but we seem to struggle to breach the low thirties in Wales I do wonder what it would take to beat the record here which was set in 1990 but I would imagine it would involve somewhere in SE England breaching 40 degrees considering the usual difference between the two areas. I wonder if the plumes recently tend to be further east therefore we miss on out on the milder air. Or secondly whether we need a specific wind direction which we aren't getting recently and whether there is some influence from the Irish Sea moderating temps as we don't have the same temperature swings having the warmest lowest maximum temperature of all 4 nations and our proximity in general of being near the sea has something to do with it. Would be interested to see if someone could weigh in on my musings perhaps
  6. Although if you add a few degrees as usually the models tend to under do temps then the SE may be touching 30 and other areas may hit Mid 20s which could be pleasant provided the sun comes out otherwise temps will be suppressed I would imagine.
  7. The point is though a lot of people don't live in the south. For most people North of the South Midlands there is no significant warmth whatsoever only one warm day and then back to between 20-23 degrees which is pretty standard for the time of year. Also these weather types never benefit those up north as there tends to be a NW SE split. Sometimes out West we benefit more from easterlies as we are sheltered by the Pennines,Highlands and Snowdonia for example at the end of June 2018 West was best and all of the max temperatures were in locations like Hawarden,Rhyl,Lossiemouth and Aviemore. So personally I can understand why some people are pretty miffed as this summer has been naff so far so they want to get as much out of August as possible to make up for it. Anyway getting back on topic here is the GEM for Monday looks better than the UKMO imo bit more warmth lingering around but not brilliant either. Although should still be warm down south hopefully enough for some above average temps further north as well
  8. Well enjoy guys think I've given up on today now seeing nothing but cirrus clouds around here
  9. Seen a few flashes to my North but only maybe One or two every few minutes.
  10. Don't worry mate you aren't the only Liverpool fan on here YNWA Fingers crossed I usually go to bed at 4am so I'll be on the look out for some fireworks too Although I'm more interested in tomorrow afternoon personally though maybe if we are lucky something will fire up overnight.
  11. Apparently they can form if the air comes into contact with buildings/structures as well but I believe it's most common to see them in those areas. Anyway to stop the topic from veering off. If we don't get any elevated storms today then tomorrow afternoon looks pretty good for potentially Surface Based storms based upon the forecasts I've seen. Although I'm being selfish and talking from an IMBY perspective so I hope everyone who missed out during the last thundery spell gets some action this time
  12. Looks like a lenticular cloud to me Edit : Never Mind already been answered. Usually happens around Hilly/Mountainous areas
  13. Worst of the rain is down Chirk and Llangollen way looks like it's missed us. Plus it seems to be weakening anyway. Not that we should be complaining we've done better this week than we would usually do in like 5 years
  14. Sorry to break your optimism but I'm pretty sure most of the cells are heading NW at the moment.
  15. That would add up thought I could see that sort of curved shape as it approached me thanks for sharing that
  16. Lots of rumbles and flashes to my South/SE looks pretty dark with a hail core very close by.
  17. Seems mostly IC for now not seen any CG strikes yet very loud booms though.
  18. Yeah was pretty wild inside it with gusty winds and torrential hail being blown against the windows. Wasn't much lightning to be seen think most of it was IC lightning. But lots of loud rumbles to be heard at least. No storms yesterday although the sunset last night made up for it. Will upload some photos from my DSLR later of it to the gallery and appropriate threads.
  19. Was hoping that cell near Newport and Stafford would stay electric so I could see some of the flashes as it approaches but seems to have died out for now.
  20. Jealous I didn't get in the action of that beast. Although I did get a good storm yesterday. Hope everyone is enjoying the storms as we always seem to miss them. but in the meantime I'm enjoying some interesting skies coupled with the start of the sunset.
  21. Sky looks interesting here but no T/L to be seen just some rain so probably insignificant and I'm just giving myself false hope
  22. Bit miffed at missing that and some of the storms today but got a great storm yesterday so can't complain. Here's a quick pic looking North from here.
  23. Don't think that cell is heading our way @SarahWxm I'd keep an eye on a line from Ellesmere/Whitchurch down towards Wolverhampton as that should head this way based upon the direction the showers are moving.
  24. Got some videos of the storm so will sort out uploading a few later on.
