  1. The storm north east of Siegen, Germany has an incredible strike rate!
  2. Going by the radar loop it looks like the further West along the South coast you are the more Southerly the mid level flow is.
  3. The cell furthest North just put out a couple of blips on lightning maps. Could bode well for South East.
  4. Plenty of altocumulus in all shapes and sizes moving over in the last hour. Quite unusual to see this beneath a vale of cirrostratus. As @Azazel just mentioned seems to be flattening to the West for now.
  5. This looks like the one with the MCV (Mesoscale convective vortex) ? I.e the blob above London I think. It came across the channel and made it to the North Sea. It definitely had a cyclonic rotation on the radar loop. Interesting one.
  6. Temperature is back up here now with my highest reading of the day at 29.7C
  7. Maxed out at 28C on the nose. The temperature is still holding a pretty steady 26.5C out there now. Lovely.
  8. I don't think they did @Sunny76. These storms were confined to the far South and moved roughly East in direction as far as I'm aware.
  9. Forty years ago today! The hailstorms that struck parts of Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex on 5th June is the first big weather event that I properly remember. It got very dark around midday on that Sunday and then down it came! We collected hailstones from the garden that were golf ball size. Some reports of coal being found embedded in the hailstones were also reported in the Poole area. I have super 8 footage but its on DVD so for the time being Ive just made some rough screen shots. Yours truley testing out the padding of my coat! Just after the storm and the flooding. For those that know Poole this is Stanley Green Road. The adjacent football field was also flooded prompting a storm drain to be put in place.
  10. Personnally I think its been a great year weather wise. Storm Eunice, then there was the summer which was amazing. Thunderstorms in late spring early June and then again in September and October and strong storms at that. Then we had a sprinkling of snow in December which stayed for 5/6 days and about 11 nights of frost on the trot. I mean I know thats not much for some but compared to some years around here its been pretty entertaining.
  11. Bits of Poole Harbour at Sandbanks have frozen over. I don't remember seeing that happen for a few years.
  12. Feels like the weather switched today. First day of a single figure maximum here since earlier this year. Max 6.3 c.
  13. Very intense storm, lots of green tones as it arrived and it got really dark. Lots of intercloud lighting
  14. A Flash bang every 3 minutes or so and a very neat, brief heavy shower. All heading North.
  15. Really dark anvil ahead of this storm and some nice blue/green tones amongst the cells as they were gathering to the South. A couple of CG's over the harbour and still have lightning coming down to the North of me and now the suns out!
  16. The strata and waves in this storm are quite unlike anything I've seen before. In coming!
