  1. 151mm since Monday on this station. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IKETTLES2/graph/2019-07-31/2019-07-31/monthly
  2. 31-33 around my garden, depending on how sheltered a particular spot is.
  3. They had us under a level 1 for excessive rainfall last Friday, which we got, and again for Tuesday night, which we also got. So their record is impressively accurate recently.
  4. 28 at 1000. Didn't see that coming. It was pleasant when I hung the washing outside at 8. I expect it's dry already. Jeepers! Must get it in before that arrives.
  5. There's a 4.5 hour delayed flight from Tenerife on approach to Manchester right now, must be a great view from those seats.
  6. The heaviest rain has passed now but the lightning continues. The rain was nothing compared to last Friday
  7. Lightning every 5 secs or so here, most aren't being detected at http://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en Not much thunder by comparison, but the dog let me know it was coming and is now under the bed.
  8. Nothing of what's showing on the radar is teaching the ground here.
  9. Phew! Still 29 at 2030. Lovely evening for doing not a lot.
  10. 35 in Manchester next Thursday? Oooph! Unlikely, I say.
  11. Lovely garden-watering rain right now, setting up good soil moisture ready for the warm spell next week.
  12. Despite my earlier gloomy pronouncements, we've had a few brief but sharp showers here today, and I now hear thunder.
  13. Nasty weather in north Greece yesterday. “Six tourists killed in fierce storm in northern Greece” https://gu.com/p/bp8t4/sbl Flipped vehicles in this video, which suggests a tornado to me, though the reports don't mention it. This area was under an Estofex level 2 yesterday, with level 3 to the west. That forecast mentions tornado risk.
  14. No, I think Manchester is the only place in the world getting less extreme weather as a result of global heating. Drizzling now.
  15. Our 10-day run of unremarkable weather continues. And this morning the thunderstorm warning for these parts has been shifted east, so nothing tomorrow either.
  16. After today, it does look quite nice. Sunny and not too hot, just how I like it. But July looks like starting with a repeat of the temperatures of last week. Dry at least.
  17. Last summer in Manchester we had at least one day with the dp close to 0c on an otherwise quite warm day. It was very pleasant, but it was weird to take a beer out of the fridge and have no condensation on it
  18. Rain yesterday morning and again today means we're still awaiting a fully dry day. I think tomorrow and Saturday will deliver, before it turns stormy on Sunday. Weather warning out now for Sunday 3pm to the end of Monday. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?id=747b8a63-0bcf-45b7-a2f2-ca667f339f58&date=2019-06-23
  19. It's still cloudy, but much brighter light today. The last 2 days have been really gloomy even when it wasn't raining.
  20. Yeah, the first rain band really blew up as it reached the west of the region. Just a quick flurry of drops here then dry again.
  21. Haha, that's just inside the Arctic Circle. The continental influence at work. Meanwhile, we had 11mm on Friday and another 9 yesterday. I don't really mind, usually it's nice in June then goes bad just as the schools break up. Perhaps it will be the other way around this year. That's 6 weeks off.
