Out of Wednesday and Thursday, Thursday looks the better bet for anything wintry, although still marginal TBH. Wednesday uppers and dew points are the wrong side of marginal and freezing level is too high:
Thursday evening uppers look better.
But were precipitation is forecast dew points look too high and freezing level is also higher:
So at the moment East Anglia and the far east of Kent look to be the areas that could see something wintery, although elevation above 250/300m would be needed and dew points need to be a couple of degrees lower than currently forecast for it to be snow rather than sleet. Further west looks dry.

Dropped down to just under freezing here last night with a hard frost up 10c now, nice and clear and sunny...a welcome break from the murk of the previous few days

Another dull grey start to the day today. Looks like today will see the last of the mild air with it turning colder, before the mild air returns early next week.

Oh dear. Another day of grey nothingness! No sun, wind, rain or snow...... nothing but depressing grey.
Yea the weather is not particularly exciting, having to put the heating on not because I am cold but because it is so damp outside that the washing will not dry and having to use radiators. Looks like could see some mist and fog overnight which will not help things....

Shame its all in old money. I learned celcius. Faranheit means nothing to me.
You can change from imperial metric in the settings (cog icon on right-hand side of menu bar) don't even have to reload the chart, automatically switches it for you

Not looking forward to next week. On a boat on the broads and the weather looks shocking. Last few septs have been lovely but minute we book a hol it turns sour. Is it really going to be that bad just hope rain is in the night but looks breezy throughout.
Yea i'm the same, got a week off work next week and would rather things were looking better. Not going away but if its raining then i'm stuck inside and got no excuse not to do the decorating that my wife is nagging me to do

Cetertainly looks an interesting book Oliver, will pick up a copy of the e book in a couple of days .
just on a side note, you might want to update the info on the paperback page as looks out of date now:
QuoteI will send the book as soon as it is printed – probably June or July.
On purchasing, you will receive a PDF of a draft copy of the book. It is missing a couple of photos and is not fact checked yet

Had a few rumbles here overnight but was just too far north to get anything else. 9.6mm of rain overnight though.

Beautiful day to have off work today, reached 25.5c making it the hottest day of the year so far.
-
Ended up with 36mm of rain yesterday making it the wettest day I have recorded on my station since June 2016

Was a lovely day yesterday plenty of sunshine and feeling warm with a high of 21c. Wet start today with it looking like will need to take umbrellas on the school run for this first time in a while. Wednesday still looking like the wettest day of the working week.
-
First time since the start of February that I have had four consecutive days with measured rainfall here; not amounted to much though (2.6mm). Still only at 25% of average for the month. Even though not looking forward to a wet day hope any rain mid week amounts to something.

Cheers for the advice, that's a pity with the 17-40 as that's a brand new l series lens I bought specifically for this trip, now I'm wondering if I have made the right choice... I also have a Samyang f2.8 14mm ultra wide fully manual lens, and the longest in my possession is a 55-250
Nothing wrong with it and take it if you have room, but the 50mm is a faster and the 10-18 is wider if it was a faster lens like a 2.8 I would say take it instead of the 10-18mm. I would take the 55-250, nothing worse than wishing you had something longer, I know you could crop in the 18-200 images but with the sort of conditions your shooting in your ISO is going to be relatively high and you don't want to be adding more noise to your images by cropping them too much in post.

18-200 for a general walkabout lense
10-18mm for wide angle
are the two that would say definitely need. 50mm 1.8 prime is always a good solid lens to have. Can't see much need for the 17-40 or 60mm.
Might want to rent or buy something a bit longer as well, even on with your camera being an APSC you might find the 18-200 a bit short; something like a 70-300 or a 100-400.

Yea it is certainly nice that we have got rid of the dull as dishwater weather that we have had recently. As mentioned above the hi res models are all showing slight variations on the same theme for Thursday/Friday, but the main theme seems to be that rain will first affect more western areas and then move into our area during the evening on Thursday / over night into Friday.

Yes, yesterday was the best day of the week (and typically the day I was back at work ) Some good sunny spells and a high of 16c. Grey chilly start today but the sun is now trying to break through.
-
Been a slightly better day here, 13.3c high is up a couple of days on yesterday and not had the constant drizzle, still grey and overcast though.
