  1. Safe trip! It seems like the thunderstorm chances are increasing too... there's another one behind Bret so it should be interesting!
  2. A torrential downpour formed over us at 6am which woke me up and brought some welcome rain. Not sure what's going to happen today, another chance of storms then the chance of some more prolonged rain overnight which would be good!
  3. Saw some lightning earlier and lots of thunder. Starting to taper off now, it never inched any further west so the drought continues! Some mammatus starting to show now though.
  4. Storm is barely moving, still in the same place but getting bigger meto just issued a warning for since its over Glasgow at rush hour I guess.
  5. Pitch black to the east, some big rumbles of thunder, hoping to finally get some rain
  6. Storm is finally heading this way from the east, fingers crossed one finally makes it!
  7. Another very warm day and we're at 26c. Cloud has finally started to build up and there are some dark bases beginning to appear so it looks as if the showers are about to start breaking out in the south-west. The latest water scarcity report is now out https://www.sepa.org.uk/media/pafixnwi/water-scarcity-report-16-june-2023.pdf Doesn't look good but not surprising, we're showing as extremely dry for the last 90 days rainfall here.
  8. Yep I've see some great storms there. I've been a few times at this time of the year, most of the time it's hot with a storm or shower in the afternoon. It's quite normal to hear thunder from nearby storms and they close the rides/pools for a bit. I've been at this time of year and had warm rain most of the day nearly every day (once) and the total opposite where it never rained and there were forest fires everywhere but the norm is showers and storms around every afternoon. Speaking of Florida it's another hot day with the temp at about 26c so far
  9. Haha snap, haven't been since 2018 either, it's costing a fortune this time! 35c with high humidity, only slightly warmer than here now.... There's a good chance we'll be in Florida and there will be a few plumes with severe thunderstorms here, ah well, I would rather be off work in sun. Safe travels and hopefully we can get a few storms when we are over there
  10. There's a station near here on Weatherobs (thanks @dryfie) showing 29c Looks like it'll cool down and get a bit more unsettled for early week which is great for a break, although I'm off to Florida at the end of next week. Was hoping for a lot of storms but they are having a drought...
  11. Went for a better view, haven't seen any lightning but constant rumbling
  12. This is actually a different cell that has just exploded to the west, rumbles of thunder every few seconds. Feels like a different country today
  13. I think we might be about to bust the cap here or find out if not, the sun is back out after the earlier cloud and not much which resulted from the nearby storm. A CB is building quickly to my north west now... Looks accurate to me, Glasgow AP is showing 27c at the moment
  14. Looks like it's all died/pulsed down now with more general rain around. Nothing more than a few spots of rain here so far but I can still see the towers building again through gaps in the cloud, hopefully there'll be some more storms firing nearby soon. Nice to hear the loud rumbles of thunder rolling over the hills though!
  15. Nice one, it's rumbling away every 10 seconds or so, expanding to the north along the M77 but I think it will miss here again. Some others about more south east so not sure if I'm hearing them as well
  16. 26c, clear blue sky with strong convection to the east. Some good looking storms heading north /north west from Ayrshire
  17. Similar here, we got a few spots of rain earlier but the showers missed to the east. All of the haze and high cloud has however cleared now and we have scorching sunshine (for Glasgow) coming in the west facing windows.
  18. It's the first wet morning in at least 3 weeks here, I want the sunshine back although the rain is welcome Didn't get much in the way of storms last night, a distant flash of lightning and 1 rumble of thunder about 10. Then I think I saw some more flashes about 4am through the gap in the curtains but didn't bother getting up
  19. I can see distant lightning to the south now Friends and family reporting thunder and lightning across East Ayrshire.
  20. This doesn't look good Wildfire takes hold near caravan park at Daviot in Highlands WWW.BBC.CO.UK Fire crews are tackling a blaze at Daviot, south of Inverness, on the hottest day of the year. Netweather radar. The showers have all gone north of the Central Belt now, apart from a new storm moving into the castle Douglas area.
  21. Yeah I'm in Kilmarnock, that storm started forming to our south East, died off as it passed over us and then intensified. It now looks like a pretty strong storm over Kilbirnie way
