  1. Moderate rain continues here, the temperature is now dropping though so fingers
  2. Another freezing rain and snow warning out for Saturday, a lot of uncertainty and mentions that lower levels in the east might get rain.... 3. That's it, I'm off to Canada! Do you have space for any lodgers @CatchMyDrift??
  4. Definite freezing rain event here, just skated out to bring the bin in from the street. I could hear the ice cracking as the rain landed on the table outside!
  5. I think we have freezing rain here although not 100% sure, it's not that cold but surfaces will still be below freezing.
  6. Yep. It won't be me with the tears as I know what to expect here, 20 years of net weather experience on these
  7. Updated warning out for tomorrow. More of an emphasis on freezing rain to begin with, then snow above 100m (5-10cm) with 2-5cm lower levels overnight. If anything, the warning covers more of the south west. Hedging their bets which I can't blame them for as it'll be down to nowcasting. 8. Amazing the difference across the central belt, it's still nearly 7c here with moderate to heavy rain! Enjoy! Another ice rink in the morning looking likely.
  9. Yeah, it's a stalling front I guess so totals could mount up. I'm like you, at the moment we're too far west so it'll probably not be cold enough or change to rain. On the other hand, still a few days to go and these events normally tend to trend south and west from past experience so a small nudge further west would bring us into the game properly.
  10. The top of your old tree must have been 150m asl, shame you chopped it down, it could have been like narnia up at the top
  11. Snow warning out for most of the country Wednesday /Thursday but the text highlights the uncertainty. Up to 30cm possible in a few locations above 150m. I just need to build a few storeys onto my house!
  12. Temperatures on the up here too. Up to 1c with a few flakes of snow falling.
  13. Chilly! I've just noticed a - 10.3c reading on the outskirts of Kilmarnock which is very cold for there. A warm - 8c here after a blue sky day with snow on the ground.
  14. Where did the road go... Looks like there isn't much left to fall here from the radar. Best snow event here for a while!
  15. Measured 2 inches of snow right at the back door so i suspect there is a bit more further into the garden but I didn't venture out! Last photo tonight - baby and toddler will be up shortly so I'll probably regret staying up so late tomorrow!
  16. Same. Meto just extended the warning to include Glasgow. We have 2-3 inches of snow already!
  17. I'm fine if that blob wants to hang around here...
  18. Heaviest snow of the winter falling now, must have a few cms. Really nice watching the huge flakes fall down in the still air rather than blowing around
  19. Snowing here with everything white, I think we've already had more snow than last night in about half an hour!
  20. Yep, meto extended the warning west about an hour ago and missed Glasgow and most of Ayrshire. Its got to happen now.. Surely??
  21. Yeah agree, I've got allseasons too and they're also really good in surface water which was really good on my regular trips up and down the M74. They don't wear down noticeably quicker with my high mileage which is normally about 25k per year (although nowhere near that over the last 12 months!) You do lose a little bit of grip in the corners in the summer but I can put it up with it for the benifits in the wet and snow. A cold mostly dry night in store for here tonight but I don't think we can rule out the odd flurry getting this far south/West.
  22. A dusting here too, which is not great from about 4 hours of light precip. I think we may of had rain/sleet for a bit near the end too.
  23. I was about to say, the webcams don't look particularly snowy! The UKV has consistently shown sleet further west so not sure we'll get anything decent here... Fingers crossed though.
  24. Yeah we had the same, a partial dusting but nice to see. Looking forward to the patchy sleet on Thursday morning....
