  1. This is the road outside, all from overnight rain freezing on it. There was no snow left apart from the tiniest bit next to the kerb.
  2. Another heavy shower of freezing rain/sleet here, not sure I've seen anything as bad as this before given the time of day
  3. We just had a heavy sleet/rain shower and the street is now an ice rink. It looks like frozen slush with tyre tracks on the road but there was no snow!
  4. The M77 has been down to 1 Lane in East Ayrshire due to snow. Kilmarnock /Stewarton areas seem to be getting a decent covering with the front remaining as snow there. Just saw this on the traffic cam that highlights the treacherous conditions.. Looks like the driver is out safe.
  5. Snowing quite heavily here now after an hour of freezing rain, a real wintry mix!
  6. We're bang on target to get loads of precip from this band, so it's turned to sleet/rain already
  7. Haha brilliant, saw the radar before going to sleep and thought that precip might make it here and it did. Woke up to a covering of fluffy snow that wasn't forecast after 2 days of warnings that resulted in nothing looks like just east and then south of here had the heavier stuff but I'll take it!
  8. Sleet has just turned to wet snow here too...
  9. Yeah, the rest and be thankful and tydrum cams also appear to be showing snow now so some hope for later!
  10. Yeah, but looks like rain at the rest and be thankful so it's not looking good for here... Rain/Sleet turning to snow likely here so a slushy mess at best I think!
  11. That front running down the West Coast is pepping up the intensity now, somewhere inland with a bit of elevation will get a good fall of snow. I'm expecting we'll end up with sleet/wet snow here but I'm still hopeful of something better!
  12. We've missed the heaviest of the showers but I did seem some soft hail/wet snow mix falling at about 7am which briefly turned the place white before melting. Hoping we get something more substantial later today but thereafter the meto forecast is dry for the week, or most of it......
  13. Snow and ice warning out for the South West now for Tomorrow night... Doh Hope you all had a good Christmas! UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  14. Good photos of 2010, i'll need to dig some of mine out. I decided to drive from Hamilton to Edinburgh for work, thought there would be chaos so got up very early, checked the radar which looked bad (good!) and made it to work before it started. My only error was that I expected the chaos to be over by the time I left work! I didn't have a very supportive boss so had to risk it. Very thick freezing fog has rolled in here now. I noticed the meto are mentioning the risk of a shower later, so it could get very icey if that happens!!
  15. It's 10 years ago today that I was, with thousands of others, stuck on the motorway all day and most of the night due to snow, I won't forget that in a hurry! Today was a lot warmer but still seasonal with a max of 2c after an icey start.
  16. It snowed from about 4am, and there's a slushy covering again, not sure how that's all we got given the radar but oh well, can't complain too much with the start to winter Looks like the M74 is closed due to the weather, not surprised! There must be a few cars and lorries stuck up there this morning.
  17. The met office have expanded tomorrow's warnings West a bit so it includes here. That's rain tomorrow then! As soon as they expanded today's warning at 6am a heavy snow shower heading towards us died off and we never got any more Edit: meto warning page is having technical difficulties so may not be accurate, who knows then!
  18. Great capture, that's about a minute away from my house so I definetley slept through it
  19. I didn't hear or see anything but there's a slushy dusting of snow. There's loads of wet snow that has slid down the car windscreens/velux windows, so it must have been heavy in that last shower!
  20. The first sleety splodges of the winter falling here now, I can only see them on the velux though!
  21. Could be worse, you could be @CatchMyDrift who has just moved to Canada where its expected to be a balmy 17c this weekend, as the sleet and snow falls on his old house (just for fun as he's probably seen more snow so far in his few days of Canada than I will all winter!)
  22. Snow and ice warnings issued for tomorrow night into Thursday, they miss out here... @Northern Strath should do well!
