  1. jellybaby1969 I decided it was a good idea to go for a run at lunchtime and had the rain stinging my face, the wind felt that it was pushing be backwards at one point The squall line just went through here with absolutely torrential rain for a minute or two and with that the wind speeds have reduced down.
  2. @101_North unlucky, at least you may see some sun during the week! Safe travels.
  3. @lorenzo yeah, I just saw Washington dc broke a record today and is sitting at 25c currently - the same temperature as Miami!! Crazy for January and somewhere you would think should be well below 0c at this time of year. As the daylight grows ever longer I start looking towards spring (I prefer snow with long dark nights) but another good snow event would be welcomed before we get there
  4. Windy last night but not as bad as Sunday night. Neighbours have lost a few roof tiles which made it across the street and some of our verge tiles look like they might come off in the next storm, hate those things!
  5. There's a lot less focus on Jocelyn, but there are still some very strong gusts showing on the UKV into the west and then up into the northern Isles. Looks like the worst hits here slightly later at night than last time so it may not be the easiest to sleep tonight...
  6. Nice I didn't see or hear anything but looks like the M77 at Darnley has had a pretty bad hailstorm. Road is closed with multiple accidents.
  7. I'm finding this more interesting than the ice. I was just thinking when @johncammentioned the hailstorm he had earlier that we barely get them anymore... then this just happened... And now it's sleet.
  8. Quite a few lightning strikes showing on the radar from the showers rattling in.
  9. The kids wooden playhouse has just lost part of its roof. My plastic shed is still standing.... So far. Some bad flooding in coastal areas and lots of trees down. Probably could've been a red warning for coastal Ayrshire and the west coast... Not surprised to see a red for the north, that area has been showing gusts over 100mph on UKV for the last few days (although the worst was just offshore)
  10. Glasgow AP showing a gust of 76mph, suspect we're high than that here now!
  11. Yep, Hairdryer treatment the road and pavement is nearly bone dry apart from the puddles due to the wind!
  12. Between now and midnight I think for us. UKV now has a swathe of 90-100mph gusts moving into Ayrshire between 10pm and midnight... Just heard the first "whistling" sound from the winds here.
  13. Yep squall moving in, same band as northern Ireland earlier. Pretty crazy and lots of reports of power going on and off from Ayrshire.
  14. Torro highlighting the band of precip moving out of N. Ireland just now and heading for SW Scotland as having the potential for a tornado. Edit: it's the cell further south in Ireland but since then the stuff near Belfast is looking more intense. Wind gusts definetly increasing here but nothing crazy yet.
  15. Haha I was about to post that too. A little supercell would add to the drama slightly...
  16. Congrats @Northern Strath! UKV is looking dangerous, up to 100mph winds into the west. It then looked like up to 110mph (I think, hard to see scale on phone) across the western Isles and along the north coast... Not sure if it will be a red warning with the timing of those gusts but it has the potential.
  17. Amber warning for winds, central belt and south just issued. Similar wind speeds to the existing yellow warning.
  18. Yep, snow has turned to rain now but we ended up with a better dusting and had it for a longer time on the ground that Tuesdays front Roll on summer...
  19. Last minute Snaw and ice warning just issued for much of the Central belt as those showers begin to head in.
  20. GFS and ECM don't look as bad anymore 70-80mph gusts, a strong storm which will cause some disruption but not crazy. UKV suggesting a squall line on Sunday night which would be interesting with those winds. One to watch on Tuesday night too for the north.
  21. I think I need to move further north... great photos everyone! There are a couple of showers getting ever further south down the west coast and potentially heading into the Glasgow area and more likely further south into Ayrshire, one to keep an eye on for the rest of the day...
  22. Aye bet that wind and rain won't miss It's already an ice rink outside, at least that weather warning was correct! Some cool patterns on the car already, going to be a fun early defrost tomorrow.
  23. Yep, models show that moving way east/south east, just the chance of a shower or 2 really so nothing to get excited about. The models have been all over the place with this one over the last few days, I think Icon probably handled it best initially (I think) and one other model had the snow going south or north of the central belt and splitting. Hope those in the snow zone are enjoying it!
