Foolishly I went for a spin along some upland lanes this afternoon, and I got stuck! At least I got these images!

Over 6 inches rain in the hills in 2 days caused almost unprecedented flooding in and around Aberystwyth.

A very cold start to winter, with record breaking cold at the end of November (-13.7c) along with a snowfall, then heavy snow Dec 17th (19cm)

Two gales in mid March 2008 caused the waves to crash over the promenade and put down thick depositions of shingle and sand from the beach.

On both occasions- Monday 10th and Wednesday 12th, the Prom had to be closed to traffic at high tides, and on the Monday, the public were not allowed on there either.
The Monday storm was caused by the combination of gale force winds, the lowest pressure for about 20 years (954 mbar), and a Spring tide of 5.5m.
Wednesdays affair was the more straightforward case of a westerly gale, but a 5m high tide also contributed.

A remarkable spell of day warmth and unbroken sunshine from 9th to 12th February.
Max between 13.5c and 16.1c, highest on 12th.
Unbroken and often bright sunshine and often calm conditions.
Trawsgoed in north Ceredigion reached 18c on the 12th and was the warmest place in the UK on 3 out of these 4 days.
Forecast is for more of the same tomorrow before it turns much cooler and cloudier.
