It's still in the balance, at least for the S and SE coast, but things can and no doubt will change. You're in the best position in Rye as far as it looks right now. -
Hi everyone, very long time no post! Despite the models having had a more Southerly flow for the low on Tuesday night/Wednesday recently, there do seem to be indications (plus uncertainty with the BBC forecasters), this low could (and I mean could) actually have a slightly bigger impact near the coast. I have a feeling that we might not all miss out on something midweek. I'll no doubt be eating my words on Wednesday, but it's not over yet.

Hahahaha, the third day of 'Winter' and it's all over already! I have a feeling there will be many a late night lamp-post watching in the months to come.

Got a heavy graupel/small hail shower here out of the blue. lasted about 3 minutes and has given a wee covering momentarily.

Yeah, it's nice to zone out watching the wet flakes coming down, but it would have been nice to get at least a wee covering.

same... Still sleety here, the odd burst of heavy sleet, then back to rain. Worra waste of a good opportunity!

Just sleety rain here in central London so far... I think the dewpoint is too high at the moment and can't see it cooling down. Maybe once the ppn gets heavier it might turn more wintry, but I can't see it settling as things go. I hope I'm wrong.

As you say, the radar is looking pretty vibrant right now, the front seems to running a bit ahead of schedule (definitely an hour or two ahead of GFS) and with a fair amount of energy being pulled in behind the front as it edges Eastward.

I agree, I think the front will move in slightly faster than forecast and a wee bit further north than predicted. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Met Office don't broaden their weather warnings soon. Time will tell.

The front looks to be further North at this point compared to the GFS chart for this period. This is the chart for 12-3am, so we are already pretty close to that now.

It looks like it's beginning to fade and head into the North Sea. I personally have done very well, but I feel for those who missed out. It does make a nice change for London to get a pasting though.

Big heavy flakes are falling again as the low begins to topple Southward again. It could be a very long night.

The wind has just switched to a NW'ly and, after a brief lull, the ppn is picking up again. It looks like the pivot is over The City/docklands area, so should start heading back for some. A case of keeping one eye on the radar and one on the lamppost (not easy)

It looks like there's still a lot of energy in this mini-low. There is plenty of ppn in the channel which should get drawn in. Hopefully this will bring more people in our region a covering.

Same for me. It could end up being some of the highest snowfall for quite a while in Central London.

It's really lovely to get such a covering, especiallyin Central London. Got about 5cm of lovely fluffy snow already, with the radar looking good for a while yet. A rare treat!
