  1. 63mm for the week so far and 31mm of that overnight according to my station. The models didn't predict the position of overnight rain well, quite a bit further south than predicted. Probably why no warnings...or no more space on the map!
  2. Incredible night for storm starved North Wilts! I am just five miles west of Swindon and recorded 55mm last night... and all within 3 hours!
  3. What a rubbish summer day! Been mainly light rain all morning, but a really heavy spell of rain past through in past hour bumping up the rain total. Looks like clearance coming from North West soon though,
  4. Just heard first rumble from this cell approaching from Swindon direction
  5. Morning, 134mm rain total for March here, smashed previous March record of 83mm (only 8 years with weather station) in 2019. Another 9mm since midnight, band just cleared. Hopefully the last for a good few days...no golf again as course closed, second consecutive Saturday
  6. Had a really heavy burst of snow for half an hour but didn't stick on paths, turned lighter now and looking more like sleet. Temp 0.6c DP 0.1c. Looks like that's it for this spell, models show milder air pushing for a day or so...Friday the next chance?
  7. Snowing steadily here with an inch on the decking. Blowing about a bit in an east wind. Plenty more to come but how long will it stay snow?…conditions pretty marginal CURRENT CONDITIONS -0.2 °C Feels Like -3.4 ° NE WIND & GUST 9.3 / 16.9 km/h DEWPOINT -0.8 °C PRECIP RATE 0.00 mm/hr PRESSURE 990.21 hPa HUMIDITY 96 %
  8. Just taken the dog for a (careful) walk in light rain, as there are patches of of black ice on the lanes and paths here. The overnight -4c frost still evident underfoot!
  9. Six ice days in a row here with about an inch of lying snow slowly melting now, -8c lowest temp. Quite impressive for mid December.
  10. Well, golf got curtailed yesterday aftenoon, after we had the only decent rain this month...it chucked it down for about 45 minutes...soaked through! Recorded nearly 10mm of rain here, garden was grateful.. Currently cloudy and a fairly cool 17.5c
  11. Still clear blue skies at the moment.New local record. Maxed out at 35.8c. 0.6c above yesterdays record! Dew point up to 20c (was about 14c earlier) so beginning to feel the humidity now.
  12. Surprisingly low minimum last night of 17.5c, but wow, it’s taken off this morning…just reached 33.2c at 10.15! Hot breeze takes your breath away! 33.2 °C Feels Like 33.2 ° S WIND & GUST 6.8 / 21.7 km/h DEWPOINT 13.8 °C
  13. New record here 34.6C....still rising slowly, how high will it get i wonder?... Comfortable 27C indoors with blinds drawn on south facing windows
  14. Hi All Had my Vantage Vue 6 years now and current max recorded here was 34.3 Aug 12th 2020. Should beat that record today easily...if the sky remains clear! Had a brief spell of cloud an hour ago causing temp rise to stall.
  15. Morning all. Thought I would join in what should be a record breaker...for my own station at least! Previous max was 34.3 in August 2020. Already above 30C!
  16. Hi rare post, but browser of thread.. Before today only 3.4mm of rain recorded this April, now had 16mm so far today (13mm last night). Very welcome rain though! Pity about the temp though, a dismal high of 8.4C with the damp NE wind. Moderate rain currently, slate grey sky
  17. Settling well here, very heavy but band has nearly passed through now.Looks like 2/3 inches has fallen so far. Loverly!
  18. October rain from Storm Alex has seen 85.6mm measured in my Vantage Vue. If i include Sept 30th, which turned out to be the wettest day in this unsettled period, it totals 123.7mm.
  19. No storm or even a shower all day here. View to my North East currently of the cell over Oxford way, North Wilts seems to have had storm shield up too...frustrating!
  20. A poor end to the heatwave here with a forgettable day of constant murk interspersed with heavy showers. One with a couple of rumbles, but that was it storm wise 34.3C a couple a days ago...what a difference! Incredibly low temperature range as a result....at least a decent amount of rain for the garden. Weekend doesn't seem to offer much hope for improvement either.... whatever your preference!
  21. Yep, much warmer morning here too without yesterdays cloudy one. Station at 29.6 C currently with dewpoint of 20.9C . Yesterday at 12.30 it was 24.4C DP 19.6C. Hottest/stickiest its felt since this spell started. Cloudless skies apart from the odd bit of cirrus, should get at least 33C I reckon. Will it trigger anything though??
  22. Far enough east for the rain band to clear slowly this evening before possibly circulating back here overnight briefly. Pretty much continous rain all day. Measured 31.6 mm here today, wettest day this year according to my station. With Tuesday and Wednesday storms, totalled 57mm for past three days. Garden is appreciating it though!
  23. Yeah can confirm that line of storms has given us (just west of Swindon) 20mm of rain in 35 minutes! Quite a few flashes and claps of thunder, nothing too extreme. First storms of the year though.
