  1. HIRLAM seems to think it will build behind and keep it going for the SE all day - we'll see.
  2. HIRLAM seems to have this affecting our region throughout the day - it's been pretty accurate so far so there's still hope it'll build from the back.
  3. West London seems to be running fine, Schools open, roads busy! Horrendously cold on the walk into work, not that much snow though - still less than December, perhaps a couple CM's - surprising considering it seems to have snowed all of last night! HIRLAM keeps that light snow in our region into the early afternoon but looks quite weak and very much a SW event - think we can one last bite at the cherry tomorrow and then we move towards less cold temperatures. In terms of cold and radar watching it's been fantastic, not so much for snow accumulations.
  4. HIRLAM has been fantastic so far and was calling snow for tomorrow earlier this afternoon. Very reassuring!
  5. Some fantastic pictures around! Nothing to write about here but good to see most parts of the SE getting some sort of snow! Something that's picked up is the strength of the wind, to the point where I've had to tie a smaller tree in the garden to the one next to it as it looks like it could go at any minute. HIRLAM looks fantastic for tomorrow but boy are the charts and forecasts all over the place - BBC and Meto have snow plastered all over the place, whereas the charts tend to be a bit of a mixed bag.
  6. Hoorah, snowing, or was snowing - although melting pretty quickly in the sun. Still did better in December but guess it's down to the time of the year!
  7. Yep, if it continues on it's current track and growth this could catch a lot of people out by surprise.
  8. Yep, it's looking interesting, hope the Thames can continue to beef up over the next frames - looking touch and go.
  9. There's some coming through fairly soon which might just clip you, other than that it looks fairly quiet from where you are southwards today as the winds change and there seems to be less instability - I'd keep an eye on tomorrow and Friday for anything significant. On another note - bitterly cold start at -5.3c at the moment but actually fine without the wind, a light dusting over night but still not as good as the snow we got earlier during the winter.
  10. Look at those beefy showers coming in. Wind direction means anyone North of the M25 is going to get some more snow over the next few hours. Wind certainly favours us throughout the day but whether there's much PPN around is another matter. Hopefully we have another day like yeterday. Tomorrow looks interesting the further West you are of our region, seems to be uncertainty as to how far East the lot from the South will come.
  11. Tomorrow looks great according to the HIRLAM which has been great so far. Seems to be little talk about it though
  12. Looking good parts of our area that haven't seen much. Wonder how we'll fare in London?
  13. Winds aren't favourable for us in NW London until tomorrow morning . We might get a dusting as the winds change in the early hours but nothing to get excited about. Bad news is that there seems to be a lot less PPN when the winds do change which would be typical of our luck. Eyes towards Thursday and Friday I recon.
  14. Incredibly difficult to work out where the PPN is going, the upper winds seem to be all over the place at the moment
  15. Any chance a Thames streamer could now kick into action with the favourable winds? Might mean some of us snowless lot might see something!
  16. I suggest you have a look at the radar: https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar You should receive a bit fairly shortly.
  17. Not according to the charts, South London could be in for a bit of fun though! I think North of the Thames will miss out.
  18. Have a look at TEITS post above, it looks like further parts of the region will see something over night. The winds will start changing to benefit more across the region as well - I think the only parts to miss out will be those North of the Thames up to the M25, which is unfortunate but the luck of the draw. All should see something by Friday though. Think Epping through to Egham should see something in the coming hours - not so good NW of that though.
