  1. Thinking back to the 2010s, what would you say was your favourite season from each of those years? Here's mine from what I can remember: 2010 - Winter (both sides of the year) - Both January and December that year were classic winter months. 2011 - Spring - Dry and sunny for much of the time with chilly nights in March followed by a warm April and a pleasant May. 2012 - Winter (2011/12) - There was a cold and snowy period in January. 2013 - Summer - A nice summer compared to the summers of the previous six years. 2014 - Summer - I recall July being a nice summer month that year. 2015 - Autumn - A seasonal September with alternating periods of warmth and coolness. A pleasant spell at the end of the month and in the first days of October. 2016 - Autumn - Not the most interesting of years so I went with autumn due to the memorable warm spell during mid September. 2017 - Winter (2017/18) - The beginning of a classic winter. 2018 - Summer - A classic summer with many warm or hot days without feeling overly humid. 2019 - Spring - Many nice days and warmth from mid April onwards.
  2. A fairly pleasant day so far over here with alternating periods of clouds and sun.
  3. I guess I am in a minority, though it doesn't mean that I want constant wind and rain. In autumn I like daytime temps to be around the seasonal average but with sunshine and chilly nights and just the odd storm here and there. I like warm weather but I equally like the cosiness of autumn and cold clear days and snow in winter. It would be nice for once to have a year that is actually seasonal. Seasonal weather is hard to come by these days.
  4. I would say that the latter would be more reliable, providing that you like your cuppa cold.
  5. raz.org.rain Kind of like a spring/summer 2018 redux. I have a feeling that is what will happen also. Just like with this year, I recall that we didn't have much of a spring that year and it more or less went straight from winter to summer from mid April onwards. A 2018 style summer would be most welcome for many of us.
  6. After a dull start, it is now mostly cloudy with some sunshine in spots. Turned out to be quite a pleasant afternoon.
  7. In Absence of True Seasons Lovely. I see that your trees are blooming very nicely. They seem to be taking a while over here.
  8. 'Twas the first 20°C day of the year yesterday for this neck of the woods. A pity it was cloudy.
  9. Apart from a few days in January as well as a few days in the first half of March, it has been a very dull year so far.
  10. Hoping this spring goes a similar way to spring 2018 and then a 2018 style summer to follow. Had enough of the rain.
  11. Warm, sunny spells and relatively strong winds. Quite an interesting day and great for hanging the washing out on the line.
  12. Exactly my point. I would like some sun and warmth now also, now that we are well into spring. We are certainly long overdue a long spell of settled weather.
  13. TwisterGirl81 Yes, winter has been and gone, but it would still be nice to challenge some more cold records at some point in the near future.
  14. MattStoke As much as I am looking forward to some spring warmth and summer heat, it would be nice if we could start challenging some more cold records during autumn and winter. We are forever challenging warm records these days.
  15. raz.org.rain So I am guessing we are in for an unsettled summer this year then.
  16. cheese Yes, I don't want snow at this time of the year and am now looking forward to the 20+ Celsius days. It would be a waste of time anyway due to the warming of the ground and strengthening of the sun. I do love it during the winter though.
  17. SunSean That made me laugh, thank you. I have the most unruly hair in the world. Despite brushing it and no matter what the weather is doing.
  18. I do love a good summer thunderstorm. They are very few and far between these days though, unfortunately. Thank you!
  19. I wish I did now. Not sure why I didn't think to do so at the time. Too late to edit now, but oh well.
  20. Fingers crossed that this settled warmish spell comes off and that there is also some sun.
  21. At this time of the year would you rather have cold and sunny with daytime temps no higher than 10 Celsius (cold for April) along with frosty nights, or warmer than average but unsettled? I would personally take the cold and sunny. Whilst the cool temps and frosty nights would be frustrating from a gardening perspective, at least it will still feel relatively pleasant during the day with the strengthening sun.
  22. My mother often says that her ideal climate would be warm and sunny everyday all year round and only rain at night.
