Sheffield snow

Yep looking more and more like a mostly high ground event this very disappointing. Nothing where I live at 78m looking at my house camera, but still snow falling at 200m above Sheffield.

Moderate snow here now, but not sticking.

Sleet observed at 200m above Sheffield where i work, not to say it won't change to snow though.

Amber warning now out for Sheffield, between 10-15 cm expected tomorrow.

I've had enough of the mod thread, it's like a boxing match in there. In the red corner we have the back slappers saying I told you the cold spell would fail to materialise, and in the blue corner we have folk that are saying but we've still got a week to go, things could change. I know it's all about opinions, but Lots of folk on the wind up in there

The don at meadowhall is rising quickly, could become critical if the rain maintains its intensity.

Radar looks interesting around the Notts area

I'm up at over 200m above Sheffield, heavy snow showers sticking on vegetation at times but not on roads or pavements.

No problem where I live regarding snow cover on roads, but work colleagues are reporting roads up above 200m in Sheffield are in a bad way.

Very heavy snow now falling in north Sheffield and starting to stick.

Get the in and the 🌨 will follow they say

Few snow showers over the Rochdale area that has south yorkshires name on it. We'll see!

I'd be happy with a light dusting atm. Pretty annoying when you see cornwall with a covering Let's hope some of them showers over the Irish sea make it over the hills this evening and overnight, but I won't hold my breath.
