  1. 15.6 c here, it was 16th April last year before we got to that sort of level, should be a law against it really...
  2. Still a good depth of snow around the famous Crask Inn
  3. Heavy overnight rain and again today has washed a lot of snow away but still plenty left in the shadows with hard compacted ice still in abundance.
  4. Tootled up to Durness yesterday and after the early freezing rain had cleared there were some stunning views to be had. First couple of Ben Hope from the East then view from the Tongue to Durness and last one of the stunning beach at Durness.
  5. Well the cold continues up here in the Highlands this being our 21st continuous day of snow cover so plenty of cold air still about. Looking through the latest charts I don't think it would take much of a swing for cold to return further south too.
  6. Back home after a few days away and today is 21st day of continuous snow cover. Had to pick axe the ice off the driveway. Third pic is from A9 not sure where as was drowsy after driving all night!
  7. Spent several minutes fascinated by people here in Stockport being able to get in their cars and drive straight off unlike at home spending 10 mins clearing windscreen before starting on the inside.. Some pics from back in Rheanbreck around 4 inches this morning
  8. Several hours of heavy snow in Rheambreck this morning but annoyingly I am in much less snowy Stockport. Back home girlfriend has been ordered out with camera and tape measure...
  9. Further snowfalls last night helped to stop temps dropping below -4.4 at 8pm. Further snow showers spreading down Loch Shin now.
  10. Further snow showers overnight last night gave a nice fresh top up, today sunny very cold just odd flurries. Took this picture while on dog wander through Balblair Wood near Bonar Bridge looking over Easter Ross and Cairn Salachaidh. Cracking day
  11. Strange weather here sleety rain and at times snow but general slow thaw before temperatures finally dropping this afternoon with snow setting in. First picture shows plenty of water funnelling down Achness Waterfall followed a snowy deer by the river in Glen Cassely and then an increasingly snowy drive back to Rheanbreck. Bitter Northerly has eased though.
  12. Not the best of pictures but awoke to heavy snow again after yesterdays brief dalliance with a thaw. We had about 2 inches with more through the morning before more rainy sleet in the afternoon but Northerly gale setting in now so expect more snow soon. Just lower down towards Rogart just slush and not a flake A9 to Inverness. Second picture of the thaw yesterday.
  13. The charts look good again for more snow after a brief mild blip tomorrow up here in the Highlands, where we have had snow cover for the last 9 days now..
  14. Another stunning day, minus 5.3 this morning and only -0.6 now at 1pm. Further inch and half snow last night then a stunning sunrise which I alas mostly missed. Looks like brief milder few hours before snow sets in again later Saturday up here.
  15. Hard frost temps down to -4.4C and 2 inches of snow overnight and now a glorious day across the Northern Highlands
  16. Another stunning day up here, no melt at all since the snow fell , just on -7 last couple mornings. Great day for walking the hound and Renard the french cat tags along as well.
  17. Stunning winters day here after yesterday and overnight snow, temperatures today only just nudging zero.
  18. Most models now looking increasingly cold and up here in the Highlands the cold seems to be setting in to stay.
  19. We awoke to snowy scenes a lot earlier than forecast
