I'm looking forward to it as I haven't been out for 3 years now, and have missed it all quite a bit. And because summer still hasn't arrived in the UK!

I'm flying out on the 14th,driving round KS for a bit and then arriving in Denver on the morning of 18th. I should be at the Days Inn before 11am so in good time to meet the group!

As I've found out! I'll be heading out to about Hays, KS if I follow the route map I've planned and then driving back on the I70 on Sunday afternoon ready for the Monday start / changeover day.

T3 for me as well. I'll be getting out there on the Friday before and hiring a car to drive round Kansas for a bit before meeting up with the group in Denver. Seriously looking forward to getting back out to the US!

Re batteries in checked baggage, see this link: https://www.caa.co.uk/Passengers/Before-you-fly/Baggage/Items-that-are-allowed-in-baggage/ They won't allow Li-ion batteries in checked bags because of the fire risk - should be carried in your hand luggage. I've not had any issues in taking numerous batteries in hand luggage. I think I had 9 or 10 (inc my laptop battery) in my hand luggage from my T2 trip and was didn't face any issues.

I didn't take my telephoto lens, mid-range zoom was all I needed (24-105) and I didn't miss it - and less weight was a small bonus!
