Snowing but only settling on grass

Tiny flakes only so far!

About 1.30 I was driving from Rawtenstall to Bacup when the most incredible hail storm hit. Roads were awful like driving on ball bearings. Lasted about 15 minutes.

Snow line just over me as can see settled snow on the tops.

Squall line going through. Rain on velux woke me !!

Well that was a shock. Went swimming in Rawtenstall to be greated by total white out. Roads treacherous and covered. Temp has dropped as has Dew point and showing gusts of 15 mph which is high for my station.

I didn’t bother to post earlier and fell back to sleep! we started with fine dry snow which covered everything but this then turned to larger flakes and things began to melt. This continued on and off with very little additional coverage. Just took the dog out and it’s all changed. Heavy settling snow and a blizzard blowing from the east which is the worse for my field as no shelter. Me and dog retreated back inside- her leading the way. Cars all covered again cobbles struggling but trees all white. Temp now below freezing and dew point below that and while looking at weather station it dropped again !

Strong gusts and torrential rain.

Bring back the snow and the minus temperatures. This sleet and wind is horrible. I’m so cold!!

it’s absolutely vile outside. Still loads of icy snow under foot. Now to add to it it’s chucking it down and blowing a Hooley. What’s tomorrow going to be like!!!

Minus 4.5 here now with dew point of minus 6.9. icicles everywhere.

Frozen in here. Steep drive frozen as we had no grit yesterday so we are all grounded unless the sun gets to work!

Minus 4.8 and dew point of minus 5.1. new snow that fell last night frozen solid.

Snowing at Spring Mount. Flakes increasing in size all the time

A good couple of inches of powder snow. It is dripping a bit but mainly stuff on branches. A true winter

I’m glad you said that. I thought it was thunder but never sure with those quarry lorries thundering down the road !!
