Am I the only one thinking the NW radar is a bit glitchy? Seems to show complete dry/dead spots in the middle of precipitation all around. Southend has been in one for around half an hour yet it’s still snowing...
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too

Heavy snow here right now, tyre tracks and footprints filled in last 30 minutes or so

Just had a look at the lamppost out front, and can confirm that it has started snowing again here too

Is that band from Suffolk out into the North Sea actually moving? It’s looked stationary on radar for a while...
-
Morning all, got a nice covering here overnight on all surfaces, and it’s still coming down lightly.
I take back my comment from yesterday about it being a disappointment!
-
Snowing in Southend and Basildon presumably means that it is here too! Sadly I can’t see a lamppost from my bedroom window, and going to the front window would involve waking my parents who need to be up early and so isn’t an option...

Have you seen the video of the bus on bread and cheese Hill going sideways?
@lewis028 Posted it here a few minutes ago. Crazy isn’t it?

I live between the two! Don’t think I’ll be going out by car for the foreseeable!

LOL. Is Bread and Cheese Hill an actual place?
Please say yes.
Yep, named after a pub at the top!

I have heard the 127 is shut at Rayleigh weir? My road outside is on the gritting route but nothing has been gritted. Road is iced up, be careful out there especially in the morning.
Yeah, that’s what I heard too, with Bread and Cheese Hill also being blocked. Good thing it isn’t a normal rush hour out there!

Sounds like the roads round here are very dangerous, both the A127 and A13 are blocked by accidents
Be careful if you’re travelling tonight!

Snow stopped falling here for the first time today. No sign of any melting in what has already settled.
Clouds appear to be moving almost due South, let’s see what the next few hours have to offer...

The continued snowfall is now filling in the gaps from the earlier melting which is a good sign. Still nothing on concrete though, however what has fallen off my car onto the driveway hasn’t melted...

Pretty big let down here so far
Its snowed since about 8am but it just isn’t cold enough. Roads and Paths are soaked and it’s melting off the cars despite it still snowing.
Really didn’t think melting would be an issue
Same here sadly
-
Still coming down but stubbornly refusing to settle on concrete. Does actually look like it may have melted too in places, as others have said.
Not calling it a bust, as we have had settling snow with hopefully more to come, but it definitely has been disappointing so far

Very heavy here with further settling on grass. Still nothing on concrete/tarmac but surely it can only be a matter of time now
-
Still heavy here but no settling on hard surfaces. If/when it dips properly below freezing though, I think it will stack up quickly...
-
Pretty big flakes coming down heavily and settling on grass and bushes. Let’s hope this is just the start...

-
Snow coming down almost vertically here. Not setting though (yet?)
-
I think I’m going back to sleep, and will reassess in a couple of hours or whenever I wake up
Good luck all! Let’s hope it’s just running late!

Met Office app (who knows how reliable that’s meant to be at this point) is still showing 46 hours of snow from 8am today until 6am Tuesday.
Not so sure now. At least not for the early stages of that timeframe

Still coming down, next door but one came home about 10 minutes ago and tyre tracks have already been covered
