  1. Kinda wish they taught more storm related meteorology on my uni course, only had a couple of lectures on the topic and it was the most basic concepts. Hoping to fill some gaps in my knowledge here so keep these types of posts coming 👌
  2. Probably won’t make it over the channel though, seems to have died all of a sudden
  3. Sup, I’m back for another summer of disappointment and the odd rumble of thunder. Seriously though this year better give me something decent 😑. Hell of a storm over the Netherlands though
  4. Tour 3 - 2018 chase

My flight leaves at 4 in the afternoon on the 10th which is a bit better, as for the late arrival, I’ll just have to get through it, if that means a six hour drive north as soon as I land, bring it on

So I’ll be leaving Edinburgh at 11:25 on the 30th of May to Get to New York JFK at 13:56 (local time obviously) then get another flight at 18:20 to Dallas/Fort Worth by 21:18, I hope that’s ok
  6. Tour 3 - 2018 chase

    Yes, indeed I am
  7. Tour 3 - 2018 chase

Yeah, really excited for it now
  8. Tour 3 - 2018 chase

Yeah I’m studying geophysics and meteorology at Edinburgh uni, lots of maths and physics though and I didn’t get to do any meteorology courses until the start of second year which kind of sucked.

Oh my god, I’ve been wanting to do this for years, can’t believe it’s finally happening.... just got to get through the next semester at uni. Hopefully dynamics and vector calculus doesn’t cause too many problems for me.
  10. Cool, made my day when I saw them, been looking for them for a couple of years now.
  11. Anybody see the Nacreous clouds on Saturday, didn’t get a picture because I was working, just saw them out the window
  12. I’ll be content with distant flashes of lightning tonight, just something to tide me over till next year.
  13. Some very nice convection here today. Even saw a pileus cloud on one of the peaks but disappeared before I took the picture. No sign of any storms though.
  14. I was forecast thunderstorms for today all week and the closest storm was over a hundred miles away. Just shows to take any forecast with a pinch of salt and don’t assume anything until there’s a god damn storm over you.
