I wish I had records for days of snow depths against March 2013 but I’m sure this March beats. I recall many days of flurries in 2013 but a lack of buildup?

I see similarities to 1996 this year, similar in the solar level too. That was a good summer- good sunshine levels and a little above average temps. The following winter was cold, especially early -

I’m pleased I didn’t live in the 1800’s when this was quite common -

I suppose for those who get the snow very cold nighttime temps would freeze it with high pressure in control thereafter. A very different outcome to the last episode. -

Whilst things do look milder a crisp cold couple of mornings can’t be discounted. Here’s Thursday early -

Dec 2010 was better personally not just the snow level but the sunshine and calmness to enjoy it. The howling wind and cloudiness with this spell has downgraded Scandinavia highs 2nd to Greenland highs for me

Model Moans, Ramps and Banter

I can’t even begin to imagine how severe Feb 1947 must have been. Snow drifts over 20 foot high(6-7 metres). Up to the roof of a house with lying snow around 1metre level(waist high or a bit more) https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/binaries/content/assets/mohippo/pdf/7/s/feb1947.pdf -
Snow grains here. Bitterly cold again, 850’s around -10 so still very cold without the severity of the last few days.

Bbc app for my area says 5c from Monday and 1 or 2 at night. Could do with that dropping a notch really if to catch up to 2010/11 season for lying snow. All next week is asking a lot
