  1. Thanks Pete, its good to be back. Yes I do love dogs, I am now down to three though. They all love snow.

I don't care how much/how little snow we get, just a few flakes falling from the sky and that will make me happy. :yahoo:

Those were the days, my friend...Taking the old Collie out for a game of snowballs! It was the 'Swinging Sixties' mind you... :yahoo:

That's like asking Jeremy Clarkson does he like cars? :yahoo:

Do you like cars WM? :yahoo::yahoo:

  2. OMG this is nuts,as a child i used to spend hours wathing the lampost outside our house, then when i had to go to bed i used to sneak a torch upstairs and hold it against the window to see sleet or snow, it used to drive mum nuts. And yes now i also get in the car to see if any rain is turning to snow, its just now the missus thinks im nuts.

Me too. I used to sit on the window-cill behind the curtains, watching the Lamppost...When my mother crept in to check on me she'd say: "You stupid boy"! :pardon:

  3. Well. well, well - the latest Fax chart for Sunday indicates Sneckie's best change of a snowfest for many a year, methinks: strong NW winds, sub528 air and (hopefully) widespread heavy snow showers...The only word of caution (I hope!) is that if the wind comes from due North, any falls will be that much lighter, or - perish the thought - non-existent???? :):)

Please God, keep a Westerly component in the wind! :D

  4. Hi Pete

I should think that folk in your region are well pleased with prospects. The weekend onwards looks pretty good for you up there. A nippy sweety of a northerly to look forward to and it looks like quite a bit of snow as well as a white xmas is a distinct possibility too!drinks.gif

Aye Tamara. It's already getting hard to sleep at night, what with my (rather premature) need for lamppost watching...Old habits die hard! :shok:

Anyhoo, if you don't get snow today, tomorrow's looking a dead cert!! :D:good:

  5. And, if winds back more to the West or Northwest, most Western parts (esp. Argyle and the West & NW Highlands) could be in for quite a packet??? I'd guess (uppers being generally around -6C and below) that any marginality should be confined to coasts and areas close to sea level (Me! :D )...That said, an increase of only 1 degree has the potential to scupper all that???

    Interesting times ahead! :)
