  1. As has already been asked: do you have any links to these 'US guys', Ian?
  2. I don't think that that's a fair reflection reality, zz...Nobody knows what the weather will be like come March. Please keep to discussing what the models are actually showing, not what we would either like them to show, or make wild extrapolations into the future?
  3. I don't see how anyone can really argue with that one...But then, after giving the subject further consideration, someone just might? Generally though: there's nothing wrong with folks stating what the models are saying; the fact that nothing is showing what most of us want them to show, is immaterial...
  4. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/76448-scepticism-of-man-made-climate-change/page-45#entry2859852 Quite true; but so is the fact that I've still got summer flowers in my garden...And that says bugger-all about climate change either!
  5. Fair play to the 'Sceptics,' though...they always question satellite data.
  6. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/76448-scepticism-of-man-made-climate-change/page-44#entry2859180 So, you're suggesting it doesn't have a reason? The spaghetti monster did it?
  7. All this writing-off the winter is more than a tad premature, IMO...What's it all based anyway - other folks'/institutions' expectations for future teleconnections and arithmetic indices?? If the greatest meteorological minds in the world cannot predict accurately for more than about 10 days' hence, how the heck can anyone write-off the next three months - all because of one Bartlett!
  8. Indeed Frosty. The weather will do what it will do; it doesn't give poo for what you, me or anyone-else might hope...It just 'does'!
  9. блошиный муха!
  10. True...But, then, it's hardly what we'd call 'exciting' either?
  11. As far as I can see - and, whether we like it or not - we have a spell of zonal weather to contend with...Will it last forever? I doubt it!
  12. I don't think that solar activity has got anything to do with it, er...The USA is cold just now?
  13. The goalposts are always moving, Malcolm. If 2010 was the warmest year to date, 20 years might well be regarding as something of an exaggeration?
  14. Ah, but if you were to repeat the spectroscopic analyses of CO2 , for yourself, you'd know? http://www.barrettbellamyclimate.com/userimages/CO21M.jpg
  15. At least we've a need for insulation!
  16. Please use the appropriate thread: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78680-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-winter-201314/page-3#entry2856685
  17. True. And, when you're talking of thirty-weeks-down-the-line, there ain't much (bar the 'normal') to go on...
  18. There seems to be a widespread need for quick, simple answers to every question...But - unfortunately for many - the days when one's religion (or any simplistic ideology, philosophy, superstition or Alan Greenspan) of-choice could provide folks with their requisite dose of untestable factoids are on their way out... I hope!
