  1. A few minutes' back, I saw something that I don't see every day: an attractive young woman, wearing nothing but a very short bathrobe, bending down and putting pieces of cardboard into her recycling bin - which is on public land...

I pleased to say that I'm still in the Land of The Living...Just!🚑

  2. I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that the Russian government is behind all this Novichok business....Detectives often talk of 'MMO', motive, means and opportunity; the means and the opportunity are obviously there - the Russians created the wretched stuff in the first place...But what could possibly be their motive: they're currently hosting one of the best World Cups that I've ever seen - and why would they want to detract from that?

Why has no-one suggested that there might - just might - be a serial killer out there, who has somehow acquired some of this particular nerve-agent?

IMO, something is not right with all this; the narrative is too convenient...Let's all just blame the Rooskies!

You'd think that an organisation capable of obtaining a nerve-agent of such purity ought to have done a better job with it, wouldn't you?

What if some ISIS scrotes have got their filthy hands on the stuff?

PS: I did mean 'would be' as - thankfully - no-one has died yet!

I think that, just now, this is more of a who-done-it than a political dispute, Dave?

I live locally Pete and the cynic in me is wondering if a link may emerge between the latest victims and the Russian father/daughter.

  3. It's now more than two months since I had my Atos 'fitness for work' interview...That's two months' knowing sweet FA! Is Atos a subsidiary of Northern Trains or what!

      lassie23

What's an ATOS? If it's the name of the company that conduct the interviews, I thought they got dumped for being incompetent :cc_confused: they apparently told someone with three weeks to live that they were fit for work, even though they are now dead:cc_confused:

  4. Soon be time for me to listen to Nick Abbott on LBC...It's a shame that I've also hypnotised myself so that, at the first mention of the word 'Brexit', I'm out like a light...

It's worked every time so far!😴

  6. Where has my hay fever gone?

This is the first year, since moving back saarf in 2010) that I've not been troubled with hay fever...Yet, it's supposed to be the worst season for some 20 years. How odd!:fool:

Not that I'm complaining, of course.

  8. Given the current lack of interesting weather (even my capacity for making everything meteorological has its limits!) I reckon I'll spend most of today keeping up with County Cricket and binge-watching ALIAS...?

Ho-hum, time to bring on the westerlies? You never know, one might even have some petrichor to report!

  9. Would you Adam and Eve it...I've just spent the best of an hour (not to mention umpteen phone-calls to Google, plus a string of new 'passwords', none of which worked!) in the vain attempt to download the LBC app...(Sheesh, you'd think I was trying to break into Fort Knox!) and just as with everything-else 'smart'-phone related, it was a flocking waste of time and money!

Good God, I'm glad the useless piece of metal and plastic hasn't been welded to my hand, eh? At least I won't be walking headlong into oncoming traffic any time soon!:good:

See? Every cloud has its silver lining!:shok:

  12. Just paid my water bill: £50, £45 of which was meter rental...Weren't we all told that having meters fitted would encourage water saving and, ergo, save us all money?

Yeah right. Talk about 'Rip-off Britain'!

  15. I can remember my dad moaning about how the footballers of the late 1960s were such a bunch of 'pansies': kissing one another after every goal, wearing 'carpet slippers' and playing with a 'pansy' ball that never even got wet...:D

God knows what he'd say these days - were he still alive - all that leg and chest waxing, and half-witted goal celebrations?? What's next? The compulsory wearing of lipstick? And that's only for the men!:shok:
