  2. Whilst I've always taken Health & Safety regulations very seriously, I do wonder if insisting workmen wear hi-viz jackets, when temps are in the mid-30s, might actually raise concerns in itself?

    1. cheeky_monkey

      cheeky_monkey

nope i work in construction..workmen do not need to wear hi-viz jackets..hi viz vests do the same job.

    2. chrisbell-nottheweatherman

      chrisbell-nottheweatherman

I'd imagine that, if they are required to wear jackets rather than vests, it'll have more to do with unintelligent supervisors than regulations.

  3. Does anyone know-of or have any links to any online courses in teleconnections? If so, one would be most grateful!:oldgood:

  4. Right then, so one glass of fruit-juice a-day will give you cancer...according to the Daily Mail. Who else?

So, next time you see two small people accompanied by two big people, all eating their sandwiches whilst wearing hazmat suits, you'll know that they'll be DM readers eating al fresco!

    Poor Al!:shok:

Good heavens this news has shocked me.

Being a fruit juice drinker for many decades.

I remember going to a tropical island and not  enjoying the local falling over juice proceeded to empty the bar of all their juices a pint at a time.

They asked a few questions after a few days, such as how long are you staying before going to stock up  with fresh supplies.

Due to the bare shelves in the meantime i popped off down to the shoreline and proceeded to empty the freshly squeezed variety from the beach bars.

This has continued at a furious pace now for over 40 years or so and apart from a healthy glow no harm has arrived.

Her endeth a short tale, true or false, you decide.

Just popping to the strawberry patch to mash a few strawberries into a juice,no harm in that i hope..

Bye for now, enjoying all the threads in here, keep it up.

I agree  - its certainly not a tiresome competition about who has the most points and that equally takes away from the point of the system. But if a system has been put in existence then its purpose surely is supposed to be about giving recognition to contributions of its members. Of all kinds  - except for narcissism and the other types referred to earlier in this particular conversation

I just think it's nice to show appreciation to those members who do a good job. This summer, sad to say, the mild to overt trolling that is so evident in winter seems to have continued during the 'quiet' season. So when chaps/esses like you Tamara and Pete are showing solid support to make this a great forum, I like to show my appreciation in a positive way, and I like that to show in your positive reputation. Let's hope that can continue to be the case.

Many might have been postal voters like me. First time I have voted in several years, but can't afford not to this time with the country set to wholly self implode seemingly of its own choice..

Obviously they were all trying to compete with your multiple postings.

So probably got distracted from what they should do. On the other hand they may think why bother. Any opinion or vote has now got to go to best of three votes at least.

  11. I was greeted with a veritable smorgasbord of 'error' messages, when I first logged-on. I even got a brand new format, for a few seconds; I can't tell you how worried I was...

I mean, being cut-off from the rest of humanity is one thing (autism can do that) but from the weather? That's inconceivable!😱

  17. Good God, BT OpenZone is shyte! I've been in a 'hotspot' for the past 5-years, and connectivity just keeps getting worse and worse and worse...What are they doing with all that taxpayers' money they've been given?

I know the feeling- is particularly annoying when it cuts out half-way through beating the meat.

    2. Yarmy

      Yarmy

BT Openzone works in an unusual way (at least, it used to). Everyone with a BT router as well getting their own broadband also permits other BT users to connect and use it. It used to be the case that you could turn that off on your own router. So if using Openzone, you are effectively reliant on other BT users.

Don't you have your own router?

  24. Just started watching what would be a very good series, but for one thing: instead of hearing Polish folk speak Polish whilst watching English subtitles, the latest preference seems to be for American English voice-overs...

I'd rather subtitles over everything sounding like a Transformers cartoon, any day!🤢
