  1. Well BB, I'm hopeful that, given steep enough lapse rates and a very long land-track, we might be in line for late afternoon/early evening thunderstorms? And, as we all know too well, hope springs eternal!
  2. Unfortunately Dami, I do; I'm an 'Aspie'...I can still remember (I wish I couldn't!) asking a dear old lady if she was going to die soon, as her skin was 'like paper'...Fortunately, her reply was: 'I hope not dear.' I was only 3 at the time, but my propensity for asking inappropriate questions persists!
  3. You're right enough, BW - today's rain has gone the same way as yesterday's sunshine!
  4. Dry and bright with sunny intervals and a light NW zephyr, 19C...
  5. Today and tomorrow look like giving me my favourite summer conditions: strong sunshine and heavy showers and thunderstorms...But not too hot!
  6. Aye. And with any luck, once the overnight rain has buggered off, into the North Sea, tomorrow might be good too?
  7. Same here, the best day for weeks? I was also concerned by the humidity but - that might be down to my advancing years!
  8. Lovely day over here: dry, sunny and warmish @21C...It is a tad breezy, though.
  9. And I couldn't push my motorbike above 30 mph...And that was a summertime hoolie! 960mb? I bloody well hope not!
  10. I'm sceptical, karl...What was the depth of the 'bomb' that caused the 1979(?) Fastnet Disaster?
  11. Thank goodness, Nick...If we're really lucky, we might get a good fortnight before the humid filth returns??
  12. It's just gone through here, so I'm looking forward to the cooldown...Thunder!!
  13. Still a rather muggy 22C over here...another wee drop of the wet stuff wouldn't go a miss.
  14. T'is ghastly, and i mean the heat not the ants, as we haven't got any! Funny thing last night was that there was such build-up of potential (between the sky and the ground?) that my DAB radio would only work during lightning strikes, between them there was nowt but radio silence...
  15. In the last half-hour the wind has veered S...temp has shot up to 26C.
  16. So, after last night's lilac-coloured lightning fest' it's now 22C with an 18 mph easterly breeze...Can't really see 32C being reached today...
  17. Not a bad couple of hours...Never seen the cat move so fast!
  18. Right then, I'm going to sleep/listen to LBC - if a stonker of a thunderstorm wakes me up in the night, it'll be great. Otherwise, who gives a sheet!
  19. It might not work with your wee'un, Beka...But I took mine to the window (when she was one!) and told her to watch for the pretty lights...?
