  1. Careful Karl...folks have been sent to Broadmoor for less than that!
  2. You'll need to hunker down in your 'frame-supported tension structure' then?
  3. You are not alone in being less than enthusiastic, as far a 'shortwaves' are concerned, aj...What's wrong with 'frontal wave', 'wave depression', 'secondary low', 'minor low' or even 'kink in the isobars'?
  4. Scattered sleet showers, moderate WNW (still no sign of it veering NE) and 1C...
  5. Tonight's BOM is going to go off with a bang...Reverse zonality, anyone?
  6. Right then, it's that time again... Will our trend-friendly GFS12Z finally deliver the goods? Or will winter be put on-hold for the umpteenth time-being? I think we might like to see an Arctic blast at around T+120ish. Anywho - here's hoping... Prozac on standby...
  7. Already going the wrong side of marginal here, Nick; even the heavy bursts are now falling as sleet!
  8. Lying snow has all but melted and the wind has backed to WNW, sun is making fleeting appearance. Hopefully the lull before the storm?
  9. Last snow shower was a good SM8. Let's see how long it takes to melt?
  10. Whoever it was, he's a right eejit! It's all gone white again...all we need now is some thunder & lightning...?
  11. Exactly SB - how can a cold spell that keeps being plonked back into FI be a cause for celebration? Isn't that what happened all the way thru December and January, last year?
  12. How long is this meteorological merry-go-round going to go on for? Spiffing for mood swings!
  13. They must be following the models then...keep putting things back 24 hours, until it's too late!
  14. And, with the temperature having (despite long clear periods) remained steady at 4C for four hours, I think it might be best to take all the promises of snow, with a huge pinch of salt...I'm guessing that, come the morning, either sleety rain or nothing at all will be the way of things... Och weel, there's always next year!
  15. I'm more of an enthusiast than an expert, S. Especially where newfangled charts are concerned...
  16. If you mean the one showing stuff coming in off the North Sea, the pink represents snow and the green is rain/sleet...I think.
