  1. This afternoons snow already melted in Hunstanton but still a few flakes fluttering about and the chill from the wind is brutal
  2. A nice covering of snow everywhere but the pavement/roads in Hunstanton right down to the sea Nice little surprise as I thought we were between the north risk area and the south risk area this week
  3. Me too, a few snowflakes on my weather app for us, back in Kings Lynn at the moment and will be up all night staying with a family member who’s in the QE hospital. Radar and lamppost watch it is, a nice little flurry would be great to lift the moods
  4. hope i don’t get a telling off for off topic posting but just had to say a little thankyou for all the knowledgable posts and updates on here, currently on my 3rd night staying with my grandad who’s on end of life care in the hospital and this threads been a big play in getting me by, obviously aided by what could be incoming so yeah, thankyou!
  5. The hot wind is very strange, it’s making sitting in the shade quite unpleasant as you get blasted by the heat with each gust
  6. 38.4c here, beating yesterday’s 37.4c peak cant believe that even here is about to possibly break the previous UK record.. these temperatures are so widespread it’s surreal! It’s not just one or two isolated 38c+, it’s quickly becoming large swaths of the country
  7. although i’d love to see the flashing continue as the storms keep coming up and passing just east of me i sadly have to be up for work in 4 hours good luck to those possibly in the firing line, and stay safe anyone still out chasing!
  8. We only managed one storm last year, and that consisted of about two flashes and one low rumble.. so already miles better for my locality
  9. seems to be a lot easier to view the lightning once it’s cleared then beforehand? barely a flash until it was very close by and then it went mental overhead, and ever since it’s moved away i’m seeing frequent lightning in the distance now. also just heard a siren whiz past, unrelated to the weather i hope
  10. i’d say wait for it… i thought the same but everytime it goes dead for a minute the big bright flashes spark back up
  11. definitely isn’t, i’m seeing flashes every 5-10 seconds now from my north-east.. more then when it was overhead!
  12. nice little show here, a flash and bang every 20 seconds or so first decent storm since i moved here a year ago last week!
  13. 59mph wind speed at Mumbles Head according to xc weather map
  14. Stay safe, hopefully that 71mph is the extent for you
  15. this is close to or over my location and it’s quite scary, i have an hour walk to work between 12-1pm tomorrow, will i be able to even make it? we had brief 70mph gusts for several minutes in a localised “tornado” in late october and that was manic here.. not sure I want to experience anything stronger or more prolonged then that!
  16. I’ll be staying up and maybe taking a mid-night walk depending on how snowy it is, as any snowfall we’ve had here the past week I was in isolation for and didn’t get to enjoy at all!
  17. bust here sadly, despite the yellow warning and promising signs it seems the precip has broken up just as it’s arrived and all it’s handed me is very light snow that couldn’t even create a dusting first november in countless years ive seen a snowflake so i’ll take what i’m given but does feel disappointing nonetheless
  18. only just started with a flurry here after being under precip for almost two hours unless it peps up in the next 20 minutes i can’t see anything settling from it this time around
  19. Didn’t think i stood a chance of any snow today but looks like things have changed! dry and cold, but hopefully i’ll spot a flake or two soon
  20. back to sleet, got lucky for fifteen minutes i guess. slushy surfaces
  21. wet snow/sleety mix here but some decent flakes for sure! if only it was slightly colder and could settle
  22. It felt like a hurricane rolled through Wellingborough for a few minutes! Took away our fence, tiles flew off the roof and the big tree in front of our house has come down. Never experienced anything like it, was like one giant continuous gust that kept going then a minute later blue skies and calm. Most houses along the street have some kind of minor damage, everyone had their halloween scare here this year
  23. can someone explain how it’s raining under blue skies? very weird, no rain clouds immediately nearby and not that windy so it’s baffled me
  24. very muggy and feeling stormy in Wellingborough, shame i’m going up to Norfolk today, guaranteed storms like last week when i wasn’t here !
