Well we have a breeze in Bedford HQ, spinning the umbrella on our patio round. Quite strong it is and warm feeling. Getting thundery symbols all over my forecast but nothing remotely showing on radar. Quite a bit of cloud around mind but the sun is breaking thru this.
Supposed to arrive later this evening from N.France from what I've heard...

There is a CAP over London atm, if it is removed we could see some explosive storm development.

I think the cap is still suppressing storms over London. It's dying a death over billericay right now - just can't get itself going properly.
If the CAP is removed we could see explosive development!

It's moving NNW I think, but it also seems to be weakening on radar

Couple of slightly closer rumbles heard, but nothing for a few minutes
Do you think they will move north or do you think it will hold its southerly direction

Ah, you have to save as and then use the "choose files" option

Everything seems to have passed over, heading East. We weren't likely to get anything today going by forecasts, so not entirely surprised. Hope you lot Eastwards get some stonkers!
Fingers crossed

Seems to be a slowdown in lightning rate and looks like it's lost some intensity on radar.

I am suspecting it was a false strike. it was on LightningMaps.org, but has since disappeared.
http://en.blitzortung.org/live_lightning_maps.php?map=12 - use this, its more reliable

The steering flow doesn't support that i'm afraid, we're not in plume conditions.

Indeed yes, the Amiens storm is no longer a single celled organism...
It seems to have split into two separate storms, hopefully they will proceed across the channel...

Still hopeful we can import something from N France this evening. So warm here, lots of convective activity in the clouds but no rain or storms yet!
Fingers crossed, radar says we've got a 50:50 chance!
