Glad you are enjoying it too! Argh, your timetable is far nicer than mine. My spring timetable is far worse - I have 4 9am starts!! I don't think I will be having a reading week, got my first set of Maths and Physics problem sheets though - nothing too difficult though so far but I am absolutely certain it will crank up a few gears. Haven't done a great deal of Meteorology yet, mainly learning about the different layers of the atmosphere and basic satellite imagery analysis.

Half of my flat are Midlanders so I don't feel quite so isolated :p. I'm so glad I'm not self catered, I am eating far better than a lot of them by the sounds of it. We don't get evening meals at weekends though so we can sample the takeaway cuisines of Reading :D. Getting up for breakfast hasn't been easy at times though, despite the fact that breakfast is on until midday!!
My 2nd semester time table is even nicer than the 1st semester, 6 hours of lectures a week, a 5 day weekend, and a fieldtrip to the Isle of Wight for one week in April! Just using this first year to get back into writing essays, etc. as its been 10 years since I last wrote an essay!

I'm sure you are eating much better than all of us who are self catering! We do tend to take in turns to cook a meal for everyone to share, so that helps. I think most students would struggle to get up for breakfast before midday!!

Have a great time mate! :)

  2. Hi Nick,

Great to see you have settled in well and enjoying uni life! :D

I'm now about to start Week 6 (!) here and have a reading week coming up for Week 7, so will be halfway through my first term already! Loving it here though, the course I'm doing has been good and fairly basic so far but I am sure it will get harder very soon. Got a nice timetable too - two 9am starts and a 4 day weekend :D

Flatmates are great, and meeting loads of new people on the course so don't regret giving up home and job for uni! You're lucky to have catered accomodation! Plenty of my flatmates could do with that judging by the food they burn haha!

    Paul

  3.
Cheers Paul. Congrats on getting all your uni stuff sorted as well! I can't wait either, will be a totally new thing, will finally be surrounded by people who are as insane about the weather as I am :D
Cheers Nick. It's all good, and I am sure you will love every second of it!

Good luck! Still had only the one offer, no worries yet though! Do the immature and mature cancel each other out?
One might over-eide the other!

Had my first reply today, an unconditional offer from the University of Central Lancashire so I definitely have a place at a university next year now regardless of the other replies. :good:

Have you had any more offers Nick?
