  1. Wow, that is well bad, Thunder (Shocked look)
  2. I've been keeping on top of all the forecasts and warnings. Things were made out to be far worse than they actually were. At least, where I'm watching from. Not complaining - I'm extremely thankful. I know some folk on another chat site have been getting some rough stuff but, for my little corner of Norfolk, it's been no worse than a typical March storm. We had about three hours' worth of heavy rain. The wind was gusting somewhat, but not enough to rattle the fences. I've seen it here when the fence between my neighbour and I has been blown out and had to be replaced, several times in 20 years. It really wasn't a bad storm here this time. Cheerfully getting a bit lighter now
  3. Did someone get the timing wrong? We're getting ours now! Been lobbing it down for the last two hours, approx; and there's a bit of a blow goin' on! When I saw the comments up to now, I thought 'Storm? What storm?' Sorta 'get it' now!
  4. I'm shocked, reading all the comments on here. Was up at 6 and wondered where the storm was. I can hear the wind, now. Checked a couple of apps which said 29 as a wind speed. Think it's a bit more than that, but thankfully, not dangerous.
  5. One of my weather apps is giving me two choices. 95% of rain, but at the moment, clear, as it has been for the last few hours. I'm not complaining. I'll watch for a while longer, though. Never turn your back on a storm has been a long-time motto of mine since my cycling days.
  6. I love this quote thingie. It's well handy, lol. Will have a pop later, Snoopie. Done me profile just now, so that's that sorted! Have a safe next few hours.
  7. Thanks for the welcome, Snoopie Yup, can do that, soon as I find out how
  8. I'm on here all the time, Surrey. Thanks for that, mate Wind here slightly more active now, and we had one shower. Everything so far, thankfully looks far more dramatic than it actually is. (The clouds are gorgeous). I read all the reports as I love the weather. No good at the technical side, but I have some books on clouds; storms; etc, and a few very good apps. Must get a lightning detector this year, if I can find one! Stay safe everyone I'm watching along with the rest of you.
  9. Keep your local radio tuned in, and tell your daughter to do the same. Charge everything that needs it while the power is still on. I wish you a safe time.
  10. What's a year?! Whenever it was, it was a long time ago. Absolutely nothing here as yet for this storm. One tiny shower, just after dark last night. Clear this morning, and hardly any wind. I'm in East Anglia, and very thankful!
  11. Coo, I hope it isn't like the storm we had in about 2003 (?) when the power cut lasted three days! That was a bit of a wicked October storm.
