  1. Woke up cold in the night, had to get up and get the quilt out! Bit early in the year for that - plus c/heating turned itself on this morning. Overnight low of 7.5 in the greenhouse is a bit of a surprise forecasts are for 'possibly' lower tonight though
  2. Some rain here as well now, wondered why the cat came in in such a hurry
  3. Already feeling cooler to me and it is quite breezy this morning, feels like rain is on the way - yup, showing on the local radar now.
  4. Really cloudy this morning, but the forecast for no rain, was right Lovely and sunny by lunchtime but not too hot. Really beginning to notice the days getting shorter though... the cat is asking to be fed when it gets dark, and not wanting to wait until I go to bed
  5. Weird 'calm before the storm feeling' this morning. It's 20C, very overcast and humid and everything in the garden is damp although no overnight rain. Need a good storm to clear the air I think. That'd be good
  6. It finally arrived here in Willesborough, soft gentle rain all of 1.3mm in the last half hour. I love warm sunshine but we really did need some rain.... Can we please have rain until tomorrow when we'd like the sunshine back again.....
  7. Here we had a few heavy raindrops that made the cat bolt inside, a rumble in the distance and that was that. Still, a nice cool and breezy morning after a very humid night.
  8. Hot and sunny, then cloudy, hot and humid with huge raindrops, then bright spells - now clouding over again hopefully we'll get a storm later!
  9. Us gardeners will certainly moan, when something we've raised and nurtured gets dried to dust by hot weather, despite our best efforts... I think it's understandable. If you aren't a gardener, there's no need to knock people who are. we all have our own interests. I don't like/watch football, but understand that most men do and just let them and the TV sports channels, get on with it
  10. It's been raining nearly all day, sometimes light, sometimes a bit heavier - yet none of the local rain gauges show more than about a mm - perhaps the wind is blowing it about too much cos we've certainly had enough to get puddles on the paths. Could do without the gusty wind though, it is giving everything a good thrashing, considering the trees and plants are already weak from the drought we might get a few casualties
  11. Stopping now, storm is moving on, but the garden had 8mm of rain in the 48minutes
  12. I had to undo the auto-openers in the greenhouses, luckily I just got them shut before the gusts started. Last time I forgot and some glass got broken
  13. A rumble or 2 and now there are spits and spots, ooh heavier as I type
  14. The wind has dropped a bit, or maybe changed direction, no draught from the back door now ;) and It's clouded over and noticeably cooler.
  15. Here in Ashford, so far, it looks as if the storms will pass either side of us *sigh*
  16. I look here https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar turn lightning and animation on
  17. If I do that the only 'official' sites for the whole of Kent are on the coast, none at all inland. Stupid coverage.
  18. Yes, the skies before that one were amazing to see ...like the end of the world was coming All the neighbours were outside watching it coming, I stayed in the greenhouse to watch - until it got too scary to be out there!
  19. Much breezier here today, makes it much more bearable, with a strong draught between front and back doors
