  1. Here the forecast is - 28th max 16C up to 100% cloud, 29th max 16C up to 95% cloud, 30th max 16C up to 100% cloud, 31st max 15C up to 100% cloud, 1st max 15C up to 100% cloud clearing after lunch, 2nd max 17C up to 95% sunny spells YAY! sunny days and warmer after that, but no doubt things will change before then. So another cloudy week in the offing
  2. I use a Sunrise System Alarm Clock, but still get SAD sometimes during my 'dark days' when it's hard to tell myself to actually get on and do something rather than just mope about all day *sigh*
  3. I'm a sad, light on all day person:( The last few weeks have been ok here, in the SE, but June was a particularly difficult month for me. You just don't expect to feel like that at the mid-point of the year. Working outside on my allotment helps me cope, but when it is really cloudy it is depressing. Last Winter we rarely had any cold but sunny days, to cheer everyone up, just grey bleugh which apart from a few weeks (during May IIRC) just continued through Spring.
  4. Thick cloud most of the day, however a sunny spell between 2 and 3pm raised the temp to 18C whereas the rest of the day had only been around 15/16C The heating has now clicked on as it's down to 14C outside. Forecast is for single figures overnight - best go and close up the greenhouse.
  5. MetO summary says So yes, I'm having a bad summer with SAD sometimes catching me by surprise Gardening usually lifts my spirits, but even some of the plants are struggling.
  6. I know it isn't going to happen, but....................................f only they could be right for a change ! Really fed up with the strong cool breezes, grey skies and drizzle It's been a bad few weeks for people who get SAD. I can't ever remember having winter depression in summer before now..
  7. Impossible to sleep after 5am because of thunder and torrential rain - front path is flooded a couple of inches deep! It was slow moving, but beginning to ease away now thank goodness...... I'm going to need more coffee to stay awake today, that's for sure.
  8. Can someone make sure we get the Netweather forecast weather ( sun with 21C) rather than solid cloud and 14.4C It is very depressing after a few nice sunny days. Was that Summer? .....................................
  9. Cloudy this morning in Kent with a very chilly N wind - 14C not nice at all
  10. Bright sunny start, still chilly after cold night, 4.8C low registered in greenhouse The tomatoes don't like that much!
  11. So far the storm clouds have blown over, but right now one is directly overhead and it has turned much much colder, so think we're in for some this time!
  12. I have no idea either, but at least i'd tell everyone that. Not provide a forecast that covers nearly every available option
  13. TBH I don't know why they bother when they obviously have no idea what the weather is going to be like haha
  14. It does feel colder then 6C with that icy wind. Chimney doesn't draw very well when the winds from that direction so not feeling that warm inside either I'd like it to warm up a little and be dry for a couple of weeks so the allotment can dry out and get dug - is that asking too much
  15. I can never understand how some people like the cold and dark - it's very hard to understand the opposite point of view. So it's just as well that we get seasons which balance things out to some extent
  16. Was the UK as warm during the Medieval warm period ? (I know that wasn't a whole world warming )
  17. Grey, damp and miserable..........................I'm in desperate need of some sunlight. S A D setting in fast
  18. This year the temps have been rising because of El Nino - I'm waiting to see what happens after that......
  19. Yes, all the grey is really depressing. I got all excited yesterday morning when we had some sunshine first thing......it didn't last very long
  20. I've not looked to see how much we've actually had....but the allotment was sodden this morning. Much too wet to dig
  21. Last few days have been so warm, that my heating's been turned off again Weird weather .........
  22. Some of us are not good early risers - the old difference between owls and larks.
