  1. Why not? It isn't an outrageous suggestion. In 2008 there was settling snow in London on 6 April.
  2. At the risk of being facetious, the important thing here is the first S in SSW. Sudden. We could just see a sudden appearance of cold weather on the models or then again, we may not. An SSW is no guarantee of wintry nirvana.
  3. Nonsense. The 06z isn't 'useless.' I don't know why this old chestnut keeps getting brought up. A mean chart for two weeks away on the other hand is truly useless.
  4. The saddest thing about the upcoming referendum is that many, if not most people won't be making a decision based on facts but gut reactions without any basis in reality. This is not an attack on any posters on this forum, let me be clear but just a general observation, and it applies to both sides.
  5. Well, well, well. 06z ensemble 2m temps for London still showing a brief milder blip and then cold all the way through. More chilly days to make up for the mild damp horror of much of this winter.
  6. 06z ensembles for London showing a brief warm up, although it won't be truly mild, then a return to below average. A late winter treat for having to endure so much mild muck. Leave it until after the end of astronomical winter to begin looking for warmth.
  7. Why can't you trust atoms? Because they make up everything.

You stole that from The Big Bang Theory, didn't you? ;-)

No, I just google for one liners. I've never watched that programme, couldn't tell you what it is about or who is in it.

  8. I once saw this internet shock video of this chap whose mouth is attached to a giant funnel and he is strapped in place so he can’t move. Then a girl went and *ahem evacuated her bowels into the funnel. I think this would be a great thing to make ‘the Donald’ do to reverse the direction of flow from his mouth.
  9. I really hope the Paris Accord can hold climate change at bay (I'm trying to be an optimist before you pounce on me!). Can you imagine a warmer world where every December in the UK was as dull, foul and non-descript as this in the South and as destructive in the North West?

The world is already too warm and the agreement they have reached is not satisfying. The sad thing is that even the agreed target may not be achieved in the end.

It won't, greed and corruption will win the day ....

  10. And charming Mr C intervened in the case of a man who defrauded pensioners of tens of thousands of pounds in cash by pretending to be a policeman. Apparently the cash was going to be used to fund Daesh. He wrote to the courts supporting his bail application. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/12044641/Jeremy-Corbyn-writes-letter-pleading-for-fraudster-Mohamed-Dahir-to-be-freed-for-Christmas.html
  11. I strongly disagree. There should be a clear distinction between the seasons. At least 8C feels like December.
  12. Good point, but I think Donald is an even scarier prospect than Ronald.
  13. I wonder. Are there any controls in place should this buffoon get elected? He is either as mad as a box of frogs or a massive troll, neither of which are good for the man who has his finger on the nuclear button. Are there people behind the scenes who will ensure he can't do anything that will actually put the whole world at risk or is he simply allowed to run amok? I am starting to think that he has the capability of starting World War 3.
  14. Is climate change going to make the UK's climate monotonous throughout the year? The weather in December shouldn't be the same grey 15 degrees max muck that it can be in June. Very unscientific I know but that is how it feels to me, I can't think of anything worse.

  15. Mild damp weather please bugger off. It isn't October anymore. Fingers crossed for some nice cold and dry weather to come.

Are we binning the first third of winter already then?

  17. I am really happy with the proper model thread. Lots of informative posts and the whining and trolling of the past appears to have pretty much disappeared. Well played to everyone who posts there and kudos to the mods for keeping it in such good shape too.
  18. I always enjoy reading netweather on my smartphone while sat on the loo!

  19. Seriously though, CFS is awful.
  20. CFS is hardly the most reliable model. No reputable forecaster would set much faith in it.
  21. Shut down schools and mosques that preach hate. Arrest every person, regardless of age who shows support for Islamic extremism. Try them all for treason and either execute them or lock them in solitary confinement so they can't spread their filth in prison. Invade Daesh held areas and kill every enemy combatant and warn other countries that they share a similar fate if they can't get their act together. Invade and occupy Saudi Arabia and turn it into a UN held colony of sorts and remove fundamentalist Islam.
  22. Arrest everyone in the UK with links to Islamic extremism. Refuse re-entry for anyone who has gone to Syria. Start killing every single Islamic extremist on the planet. Time for the malignant cancer to be cut out of humanity.

Dreadful, dreadful event. which still leaves a 'pit of the stomach' feeling. I think you're right Spikecollie. I think the area IS controls needs to be made extremely uncomfortable to live in (by less discriminate bombing by us) Leaflet before hand and hopefully the local populace will rise against them. If they have such little support (we keep being told) It should be a cinch...

    3. ciel

...but how does one extinguish this medieval ideology and the prospective followers?

    4. Mokidugway

The way I feel at the moment a neutron bomb would be to good for them ..

  23. But in all seriousness I suspect the weather is about to make fools of us again.
