  1. Another nice little hail shower here around 30 minutes ago, was unexpected, but came down quite a bit for a minute or 2 .
  2. Arnie Pie Yeah can tell those are the same cells from a different angle, the one on the right produced the best mammatus on these cells. Looking forward to plenty more stunning structures and obviously storms to come this year hopefully . Got a good feeling though how active its been already even in the South today.
  3. Heavy showers around here, missing out on the heaviest but could see them not far away by rain curtains and virga, was hoping they would turn thundery but the main activity looks to be in the NW at the moment.
  4. 2024 is off to a cracking start for some. Can easily see the high sheared environment so not surprised to see some of these storms are long tracked with hail and possible funnel clouds. Nice to see some in the Midlands too. Looks like a hook or 2 in South Wales.
  5. Small but very intense echo between Cardiff and Newport with quite a bit of lightning.
  6. Another hail storm and gusty winds, this time left a small accumulation up walls.
  7. As convective season is well underway now, think its time to turn all the attention to storms now. Some lively hail showers here today with some gusty winds. Also some nice cloudscapes between the showers. Surprised how much lightning has been in some of the showers in the south. Hopefully a good sign for the rest of spring and summer.
  8. nobble Might need to put some insulation in through the warm months, as you never know next winter could be the one (again)
  9. Was sleeting a bit here too, wonder if they will start to turn more wintry if they continue pushing in this evening as temps fall. @nobble sorry to hear about your house because of snowless February
  10. Not related to the upcoming possible snow event but came across some flooded roads earlier near Bescot from the torrential rain we had from the convective line that came through and the heavy rain that lasted a good few hours after that, didn't expect it to be quite this wet today. But temperatures starting to fall tonight, feeling a little chillier now.
  11. Got a feeling it might be a touch like last March snow event which turned to rain, although it looks like this time there might be more snow than that event before it turns milder, unless of course it keeps trending further and further south with each run from now on which would keep us colder and snowier for longer but that's a big ask. Should be not far off the mark now being so close to the event but a 50 mile shift North or South still cant be ruled out, even 12 hours prior to it happening. Interesting day or 2 to come before hopefully snowy Nirvana.
  12. A webcam here in the middle of Norway, already looking quite bad there, expecting it to be nothing but white later.
  13. Same here extremely gusty last night, bins toppled, some fences down in other gardens and a single plank ripped of a fence here. Some gusts so strong was rattling the house and sounded like it was gonna put the windows through. Saw what looked like a piece of felt fly past someones garden light. Worst here since 2017/18 too.
  14. Just brought some loose items in from the garden, 60mph would move them around quite a bit. Crazy to think just yesterday morning the last remnants of frost melted but seems a distant memory already.
  15. -6 here now with just below -8 DPs, looking forward to seeing how low temps manage to get overnight .
  16. If we had a decent snow cover, tonight would of easily put the temps below -10, but probably still the coldest night since December 2022.
  17. Yeah same , surprises have happened already so we'll have to wait and see and there are warnings for snow for the north of the region until Thursday so hopefully some of those showers/streamers will make it to more of us after the front.
  18. For us further south, we'll see what happens later as the system passes to the north and a sort of trailing front moves south but fizzling as it does but with a more NW flow rather than WNW following.
  19. One thing is for sure, it's looking more promising than it was a couple days ago when it was looking bone dry, even if its just a few showers and light coverings.
